VERY depressing movie. not in a bad way though, just one of those "this is the way it could be if some foul shit happened, and life would suck" kind of thing. the book was double fucked up.

the scene in that fucked up house was morbid as hell. but yeah, the cormac mcarthy book was mad poignant. i didn't read it until after i saw the movie though, which is always a good thing, because movies rarely capture the true essence of the literature.

This movie was so hopeless it was hard to watch, If I new what hell is like I would compare this to watching people suffer in hell. It was a good movie, but it was very sad. Not a movie I will watch again as its so hopeless and depressing I will never watch this again. And yes the scene in the house was brutally terrifying morbid.

One of the reasons I liked it was cause it didn't have too many unrealistic upbeat moments during the film. I thought the very ending was a little corny and cliched.

Maybe I have watched too many horror movies and seen too much bleakness. lol

I put it in the same category as 'Children of Men' (with Clive Owen, 2006). Excellent watch, but won't make you feel too happy.

At least children of men had the hope of that woman who gave birth for the first timei n years. At the end although the main character guy died you kinda felt like the baby would change the world, kinda like the last child born that died changed the world in the beginning.

I don't really catch feelings over Hollywood movies so this was just dope to me. The ending was indeed a bit corny.

Thought this was just really boring, didn't finish it so I missed the corny ending! I've read a couple of decent books from Cormac McCarthy but not the one this movie was based on
