this one always seemed to bother me as well...

"Bollocks" is a word of Anglo-Saxon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_English) origin, meaning "testicles (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Testicles)". The word is often used figuratively in British English (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_English), as a noun to mean "nonsense", an expletive following a minor accident or misfortune, or an adjective to mean "poor quality" or "useless". Similarly, the common phrases "Bollocks to this!" or "That's a load of old bollocks" generally indicate contempt (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contempt) for a certain task, subject or opinion. Conversely, the word also figures in idiomatic phrases such as "the dog's bollocks" and "top bollock(s)", which usually refer to something which is admired, approved of or well-respected.

if you don't live here dont make assumptions..

these aren't assumptions, they are observations. don't get offended over the reality of things.

don't worry progress can be made.

america is pretty unique in how quickly we develop and spread new slang. it's almost like a generational rite of passage here.

part of it is in the language itself. english has a long history of adapting words from various european sources and so new words are accepted more readily then they are in more homogenous languages -- mandarin for example.

and there are almost 4 times as many people living in the US than the UK and australia combined. so when you consider that and also factor in america's broad ethnic and regional diversity then it's not so surprising that america dominates the slang olympics.

We frenchs update our slang very often, anyway we found the best way to get words that never get old, we just reverse regular words.
About the English slang, it is a scientifically proven fact that Alan Ford is the only man able to give english slang its true power.

the only people that made the accents cool were in the movie 'Rise of the Foot soldier'
