It came down to three actors and they were Bradley Cooper, Ryan Reynolds and Justin Timberlake (yes you read that right) but according to Variety the role was finally given to....

Ryan Reynolds

Thats right, this is the same actor that played Hannibal King in Blade 3, he played Deadpool in Wolverine and is also set to star in a Deadpool movie.

So it looks like he will be playing a character for both Marvel and DC...now thats just greedy

retarded. especially with it coming out after deadpool. he fits the deadpool persona So it works. its almost ideal, pardoning the joke of a role he had in Origins.

GL (hal im assuming) has a more mature feel, from what I take away. like carefree, charismatic with a pinch of machismo but gets shit done.

also, people are guna expect that DP/same Reynolds personality delivered and im not sure if he can give that. He has perfected sarcasm in my opinion and does it well and diversity is completely welcome but so many people take Comic based flicks serious, myself included, so unless you've crossed over from whatever demographic to the next, don't attempt it starting with CB flicks.

I personally don't wanna see Deadpools Robert Downey play GL, even if he is in my top 10 of fav actors

lol at being greedy

i agree that he probably shouldnt be both but he has played more serious/mature roles before so he can probably pull it off but i dont think its an ideal fit

^^Common was going to play the John Stewart character in the Justice League movie but since the flick was abandoned he never got to play the role.

Reynolds would fit better as the flash than a GL.

reynolds is whatever to me, he's capable of playing it straight, i'm more interested in the storyline and the creative direction...whether or not they make this space oriented will determine how successful the movie is...because if they make it an earthbound movie, it's just going to blend in with every other superhero movie and sink.

then also, if its too space oriented...it might lose people, and might just come off as boring and/overblown. its a careful balance, that im sure they aren't fully aware of.

Green lanterns origin is set on earth and space so im guessing we're gonna get a bit of both. I remember reading somewhere that in the script it does say that he goes to OA which is the home planet of the guardians (founders of the lantern corp)

^^^don francisco's the man...the fat dude from el gordo y flaco (or whatever it's called) always has the best girls in their hot tub though

apparently the villain in this is some space monster named LEGION that possesses Hector Hammond, and they have Sinestro still as a good guy...don't know why they decided to just make up a villain but whatever
