van basten was a fucking legend - gets my vote just for that goal in the euro final, never really saw maradona or pele, but van basten lost about 8 years of footy & his prime & was already the nuts

yeah, I knew there'd be some glaring omissions cause you can only put 10 choices in a poll.
maybe should have kept it down to the 2 obvious ones, but then thought folks like Cryuff, Ronaldo etc deserved to at least be there.

I wouldn't really put anyone on that list who is still playing football at the moment like Ronaldo and Zidane until they have retired.
I know you can only choose 10 people but here are a few more suggestions:
Franco Baresi
Franz Beckenbauer
Booby Moore
Paolo Maldini (in a couple of years)
Dino Zoff
George Weah
etc etc.
That being said, I would still prolly go for Maradona as evertime I saw a clip of Pele, he missed the goal everytime (i guess i watched the wrong compilation).
peace

No Way. Platini was an amazing player. Top Scorer in Serie A for 3 seasons with Juventus and this was from midfield. If it wasnt for the cheating Germans in 82 then he would have been World Cup winner also.

I think this match is the biggest shame in football history... even now, when I see replay of that France - Germany, I get mad ...
Anyway my vote goes for Maradonna .

im gonna have to go with pele, considering the fact that maradone just hogged the ball and dribbled down the whole pitch and scored goals.....i dont deny his skill but pele was generous at times and also scored amazing goals
oh ye and he aint a fat coke addict lol
^ you seen maradona lately hes lost lots of weight i saw him on some italian dancing show.

Maradona by a fucking mile. The goals he scored in 86 world cup have never been touched. the one against england where he ran from beyond half way and the 2 against belgium in the final. In Barcelona he was the greatest and in Napoli as well.
