View Full Version : P.O.S Never Better - album of the year so far

08-21-2009, 04:27 PM
Granted i still have to hear a lot e.g Blaq Poet, Cunnilynguists, Tanya Morgen etc, but i have heard quite a far, and so far nothing compares to this. It may not be to everyones taste, but the beats are fuckin thumping throughout, and P.O.S is a pretty damn dope rapper.

POS is a white man's rapper. Straight truth, not even being racist.

Absolutely amazing album. I'd agree with it being the high point of 2009 so far.

POS is a white man's rapper. Straight truth, not even being racist.

Of course, because he has more of a rock/hip hop style, but i'm half hispanic and i appreciate his music.

This album is real nice, and its for sure in the top 3 best albums of the year, but with some of these future releases, I don't know how long it'll stay like that.

"Optimist" is my joint :D

^^Yup, the whole album grows on you, even the tracks I feel are weaker like Get Smokes and Terrorish I still listen to. No skipping here.

Anyone who hasnt purchased the actual cd is missing out on some of the bext packaging ive seen for a cd in a long time, well since Atmosphere released the delux edition of "When Live Gives You Lemons..." last year. You can take apart the different cards (bout 20 of them) and match them up with the five transparent sheets and make your own album cover and back art.

"Let It Rattle", "Purexed", "Goodbye", "Been Afraid" etc are fuckin dope tracks, and as Brock said, the few i wasnt feeling either which were "Terrorish" and "Get Smokes" as well have grown on me. You can play this shit through.

Its great to see hip-hop been pushed in a different direction without sacrificing any of its basic elements. THIS is how hip-hop can move foward.

I've been listening to it for 3 days already and shit goes hard I love it, it's different and it's beautiful.

it's a follow-up to "Audition" http://cdn.pitchfork.com/media/6594-audition.jpg

...which is a follow up to Ipecac Neat....to be honest with you, each cd is brilliant. I think his best song thus far is That One.

i think he gets better each record... whike Ipecac was good, Audition waas better & NB was bananas. He does have that "white man rap" appeal (which i can't even define exactly what that is), an example would be The savion Glover track but it's easy to move past that. The last song on this tape ends the record on an amazing note.
this is definitely a well constructed, well thought out & aptly titled record.

I'm LOVING to see people on this site catch on to this shit,

All albums are brilliant,

Once you get threw those and love them, check:

P.O.S's group Doomtree's albums. (Doomtree, and False Hopes)

..and Cecil Otter's debut, Rebel Yellow.

All equally great music.
