Caring about how much an artist sells, what label he is on, who he's beefing with...

Fans of other genres dont care about this bullshit do they?

Why do hip-hop fans care about this insignificant nonsense???

A music label influences the type of album that going to be put out. Marketing too but that leads back into album sales. Hip-hop fans don't really care about album sales but they care a little that they do well in the charts according to the artists own standards.

Yes, yes they do. Perhaps not by those terms, but in a way that fits the genre you will find a lot of fans caring about the stupidest things. Could be that you pay more attention to hip hop, but you will find it in all types of music.

It doesnt seem as much tho...

My point is it seems like fans of other genres care about the actual MUSIC more than record sales, contrived rivalries, and who's making the most money.

Like unless you're the exec. producer of an album, WHY do you care about if it sells or not???

^^^^^for an example, if a Megadeth and Metallica albums are released the same year, or better, the same week!, people are going to talk about who selled more, just to see what band is a sellout, haha, true story, people are like that

it maybe looks different in hiphop, cuz rappers want to be GOATs and battle all the time...
