JASPER

_8ZpVWuxPgg 4:13!

Far East Family Band is a prog/space band from Japan and they make Pink Floyd like music. But better.

This is what I listen to when I'm high and if you're not, then just skip to 4:13

If you like this I could hook you up, or you could just do a rapidshare search and find all their albums.

This will be updated regularly with good music, feel free to comment or suggest similar music, just don't come in here to tell me what Coldplay track you're "bumpin'"

Baris Manco - 2023

This is Turkish prog/psych from the 70's and if you put it at 3:10, one can only wonder why this song hasn't been sampled a million times.

Azitis - Life Worth Living

Lots of sample worthy material on their album. Don't mind the lyrics, they're a Christian band. Unless you're down with Jesus and such. Rare psych stuff.

Stark Reality - Dreams

I don't know much about this band and they only released one album, "Stark Reality discovers Hoagy Carmichaels Music Shop". The whole album is a fucking trip.

This band is somehow related to the live band at Wu concerts I think. Not exactly sure, just really nice music.

T2 - JLT

Just dope. Very dope. Check out the song "No More White Horses" in the related vids too.

Jasper, you ever listen to Acid King? They're an american trio that I think you might like. They're a little more distorted but it's quality stoner rock. Plus, they're fronted by a chick.

JASPER
09-14-2009, 06:03 PM
Well, I just did. And I have to be honest here, it's not really my type of music. It's a bit too heavy metal for me. Not a big metal head, used to be, but not any more. I didn't find any of the ~10 songs I listened to to be enjoyable even though I'm really open to music of all genres. Feel free to link me to a song of them I might enjoy.

Right now, I'm playing this song

Yeah, I like the heavy stuff but I can dig anything really. In fact that last one you posted was phenominal. Very spacey, niceness to it. I think I like it more being an instrumental too.

I think you'll dig this. It's this band Umphrey's McGee doing a Pink Floyd themed jam session. Long but the guitar work is gross.

Nice guitar work there. Yeah I like that. I'm more into late 60's early 70's orientated music. I don't know what it is, but I can usually tell by the sound what year the music is from and to my ears, music from 40 years ago sounds so much more real and live than post 80's.

J01gQf_-oyE

This is one of my favourites. The song starts out a bit slow, but it gets pretty damn crazy fast. Good song to get high to.

What albums by Far East Family Band would you recommend?

All of them?

I figured i may as well just start with Nipponjin and go from there.

The stuff i've listened to on youtube is great.

I really enjoy the sound of what you post, i don't listen to enough psychedelia.

You've probably heard of the Flower Travellin' Band, but here's a track of there's anyway.

All the FEFB albums are good. But Parallel World is something else. That would be a good starter, but hey, you'll probably download it since chances of finding their albums offline are zero to none, so why not just download everything right away.

Flower Traveling Band is another one I listen to on a regular basis.

I have every damn Can album and Tago Mago and Ege Bamyasi are my pure dopeness.

Don't worry with the sticky, I'll update this thread regularly.

OMG! That's an acronym I don't use a lot, but for this song I'm making an exception. There's almost 3:33 minutes of foreplay, very dreamy stuff. After that, shit gets serious and goes hard for the rest of the song.

If you're gonna listen to anything in this thread, listen to this song. To quote some youtube fag from the comments "Most beautiful song I ever heard"

you should just hit record at home doggie.if you got a good sound card you should be able to rip any of these shits easily with audacity or some other type of program.some sound cards even have sound ripping in them.

I mean , yeah support the artist an all but there is a lot of music out there.just do like back in the ol days and dub the shit.like makin tapes off the radio an shit ,dubbin a copy you borrowed and shit.

Everything I post here I got on mp3. They're all ripped from vinyl, not by me though, so chances of finding these at Tower Records are slim to none. Some of these songs are so rare they come from LP's that are out of print or have never seen more than 200 presses.

Download from blogs, search for blogs with progressive rock. These guys are pro's at ripping vinyl. This is a good site.

yeah man I love wax to death myself.there is just some stuff I hear online and its crazy so I will dub it with audacity.

I dig like a mf but I aint rich.lol , I gotta dub some of this shit due to not finding it or else just not being able to afford it.you already know whats up

I have used the youtube/mp3 thing and it was cool and all but with audacity I can go in my mixer in the sound card and pump bass if need be or I can just have control of the volume.

I dont know man ,whatever works for you.

Those two tracks are both from their first self titled album.

They made two albums after that one. They're a bit more experimental and less jazzy than the first which I prefer.
