Ive never gotten this either. Just use 10 points because it translates easier to percentages.
I really think alot of hip hop heads only use it because of The Source's 5 Mic system.

and anything below a 4/5 is seen as being basically a wack album lol. or something not worth spending money on.
even the out of 10 system is flawed though. because no ones looking at it like 5/10 = average album. 5/10 for some reason means a wack album. 7/10 is average, and 6/10 is just below average.
So the out of 10 is actually just a "out of 5" on steriods.

You guys are morons if you can't translate the 10 scale to 5. And the reason we use the 5 scale, is because the imbecile who keeps making the polls with 7 choices is making it impossible to do statistical analysis.

Because back when i was modding the section, nobody would bother putting polls on threads, so i had to go through all the threads and add them.
Since it's is easier to add 5 poll options, rather than 10, that's what i did.
That's why today, you still see younger cats throwing up 5 poll options, as a tribute to the god.

Surely you're not just now realising that 5 x 2 = 10?

I prefer the out of 5 over out of 10
Out of 5 is easier to pinpoint how the album is
When you do out of 10, there is really no reason for the 1-5 score cause how can u say an album is a 3 out of 10 opposed to 1 out of 10. Makes no sense

I asked the very same question when i first saw it.
As the track is called Ghost Deini.
BUT
I have a feeling that it was originally Ghostdini but somewhere along the line it was changed, and now has been changed back the original correct spelling.
Not sure why i think this though.

Its because 5 (for whatever reason) is NOT seen as an average. If 5 WAS seen as a average score, the 10 would obviously be the much better system. So your not really preffereing the 5 scale, you just dont like how the 10 scale is being done.

i see where he's coming from with this.
i never took the time to put this into words but if i were to, this was a good way of putting it.
i see it the way he described tho unfortunately. 6/10 = eh album to me... but personally if im basing my opinion off a review i'll read an article.

rating any album numerically will never be a good idea imo.
can you really put a number on how much you like or dislike something? ONE number for every time you listen to it?
i swear it changes everyday, unless its a bonafide classic
paragraphs > rating with numbers

prolly a way for you to justify it being wrong. nothin wrong wit that, its mental shit. like when a producer is mis credited for a beat. especially on a bomb album its like 'shit is so good how they fuck that up". takes away from its cohesion.
