the whole song has got to be a embrassment to em fans, whys he making these douchey nickelbacked soul searching corny ass songs? i havent heard the album but if its full of emo toomfoolery like this im glad about that. what a clown.

this is actually the only song on the entire album in the vein of that though, and it's the only song produced by Eminem himself.. the rest of it is all produced by Dre and is all filled with sick, twisted rhymes. Great wordplay and the flow is out of this world but he fucks around with a stupid accent on alot of the songs which kinda drags it down a bit. still a good album though.

ok maybe this was a radio thing. way too mushy though man. and his singing on the hook is unbearable. hes supposed to be eminem.

Why isn't it dope? Because you don't like the hook? Since when was hip hop about hooks?

"I took my bruises, took my lumps
Fell down and I got right back up
But I need that spark to get psyched back up
And in order for me to pick the mic back up

I don't know how or why or when
I ended up this position I'm in
I'm starting to feel dissin' again
So I decided just to pick this pen

Up and try to make an attempt to vent
But I just can't admit
Or come to grips with the fact that I may be done with rap
I need a new outlet

And I know some shit's so hard to swallow
But I can't just sit back and wallow
In my own sorrow but I know one fact
I'll be one tough act to follow"
---
"I think I'm starting to lose my sense of humor
Everything's so tense and gloom
I almost feel like I gotta check
The temperature of the room

Just as soon as I walk in, it's like all eyes on me
And so I try to avoid any eye contact
'Cause if I do that then it opens the door
For conversation, like I want that

I'm not looking for extra attention
I just wanna be just like you
Blend in with the rest of the room
Maybe just point me to the closest restroom

I don't need no fucking man servant
Trying to follow me around and wipe my ass
Laugh at every single joke I crack
And half of 'em ain't even funny like

'Ha! Marshall you're so funny man
You should be a comedian, god damn!'
Unfortunately I am
I just hide behind the tears of a clown
---
"Nobody asked for life to deal us
With these bullshit hands we're dealt
We gotta take these cards ourselves
And flip 'em, don't expect no help

Now I could've either just sat on my ass
And pissed and moaned
Or take this situation in which I'm placed in
And get up and get my own"

that tears of the clown shit mad me laugh, i agree it's good when rappers make personal songs but this shit really didn't work for me, the whole album was pretty weak tbh

yo... one of the few tracks im NOT feeling off the relapse.

laced you owe it to yourself to at least hear "stay wide awake" if you ever thought em was nice!!! go to youtube and tell me what you think ghost.

homie switches the flow all three verses each getting better than the last over a monster dre beat!!!

yall dont have to like his music, but how can you deny what slims bringing to the table on the mainstream side of hip hop? hes placing emphasis on lyrics and flow, relapse to me is an emcee exhibition. a master sharpening his blade over dre beats.

yeah. relapse still holds up as one of the better albums of 2009. em kills the whole damn album.

i can see why people dont like beautiful. i dont think it's all that bad. i think a lot of the rhymes are also a metaphor for the city of detroit and how its basically becoming a ghost city after all the plants closed down.
the song fits better into the album as a whole more than it does a single.
