the fuck you talking about alcatraz? mos def had one of the best albums this year, the ecstatic proves he still got it

ALCATRAZ
10-13-2009, 06:12 PM
ok maybe i was a little harsh ... mos def isn't TERRIBLE ... but if you ain't gonna come hard (nh) like you did on BOBS and new danger, then why bother ... his new album was nothing more than mediocre raps over average to above-average beats ... he had no drive, no charisma, it just seemed like he wasn't all there for the album

Ey, wtf? Ecstatic was dope and is one of the most praised albums this year.

He reeeaally sounds like he's heavily on crack when he's talking though, you can barely hear what he's saying, took me like 20 seconds to realize that he was reciting rhymes.

after the first and second vid of this
i get the feeling when mos def is old and senile he's gonna be walkin around mumbling random DOOM lines 24/7 with no control of it

If they have a callabo that would be fire. Talib twittered that he was in the studio wit Mos Def, DOOM, and Kanye. I shit you not Kanye........

i really can't imagine doom being in the same room as kanye
especially for music making purposes

I can see it. Not the Kanye nowadays but the old Kanye. If this is true it shows Kanye hasn't completely sold out. Still makin dope shit with Def and Kweli

and i'd love to hear a collabo with Talib, Mos Def, Doom and Kanye....he's got plenty of corny garbage but Kanye's also made some dope shit

Kanye's new shit may be gay fish but the dude still has potential.
DOOM and Blackstar though.....
this is what hip hop dreams are made of.

and on DOOM losing weight, looks like it.

and on alcatraz hating on the new mos shit, i can agree that ecstatic is not the best hip hop album of the year. it's good though, plus you have tracks like Auditorium which just blow everything else out of the water.
if we wanna consider it a single, best single of the year by far.

zNK7WO7_lDA

now let's take this track and make it more epic.

That was fucking awesome. Have MF Doom and Mos Def ever done anything with each other before?

MaskedAvenger
10-14-2009, 09:15 AM
Maybe it was his stunt double if you know the story behind that. Also Mos Def chose Doom as one of his 5 teammates in the battle against Jay-Z

^^ Sounded like Doom.

Didn't the imposter mime?

DrBold241
10-14-2009, 12:22 PM
yeah that was not an imposter. imposter only lip synced.
that was DOOM.
and no they haven't done anything before.... OFFICIALLY.
the def vs doom mixtape was made by an internet dj, not DOOM.
they've worked with people who've worked with each other though. my grammar may be terrible their but DOOM has worked with Kweli for a track, Dilla, Madlib (ofcourse), and there may be more i'm unaware of but those i know.

Tommy
10-14-2009, 03:32 PM
Ahh, thanks for that. Let's hope they get together and do a few tracks for some classic hip hop.

The whole set up looks pretty seedy.

You think Doom is holding Mr.Def captive, by any chance?

^ lmao

i thought the twitter message from Kweli said he was in the studio with DOOM, Kanye, and Madlib, not Mos, but i could be wrong

angry!
10-14-2009, 08:09 PM
mos def has always sounded like a drunk old man with a mouthful of mash potatoes in regular conversation!!!

him and doom is defintely killing whatever bottles are laying around that studio!!!!!!

and mos is a true warrior of hip hop!!!! when he does release music, ive never gotten the impression it was anything less than what he wanted to release!!!!! no compromise in him, notice he can do the hollywood thing to take the film off his music!!!!! not to say he hasnt had some dud music, but the skills are ill and his new album had some classic mighty mos!!!!!!

jesus christ all 4 of them making music together..... EPIC.
