Jazzy and mellow?? Then look no further than Guru's Jazzmatazz (it says it all in the name really)

volumes 1+2 are DOPE but 3+4 are a little more commercial...... not bad at all though

didn't read any posts, but I saw Jeezy in the thread title, so I though I'd contribute.

all you need is bone thugs man, their whole rapping style is based around jazzy, scat improvised melodies

Look no further

Canadian DJ/Producer. The whole album "Nobody's Story" from 2008 is sick. Cop it right now. It's filled with mellow, smooth tracks like this. Not one bad song on it.

wpkKzqaqcUY

Also canadian, with production from the dude above. So underrated it makes me sick. These two guys are mainly what I listen to now.

FhawKoMKGK4

Just an awesome producer... and rapper of course.

Also check out Common Market (same producer from Blue Scholars) and Rashid Hadee. Soulful shit. Really consistent artists.

there's many but here's one of my all time favorites:

m-zfxz09Rys

^this song sounds just right for this time of year for me, I love the combination of the live jazz guitar, Mos Def's vocals and the boom bap hip hop sound brought by DJ Spinna.

then I would turn on Guru's "The Backstreets" off Jazzmatazz 1, A Tribe Called Quest's "Verses From The Abstract" or The Pharcyde's "More Fish", those are songs that remind me of better, more carefree times in life as well as being reeeaaal laid back sounding.

De La Soul's "Buhloone Mind State" and "Stakes Is High" albums are a must for layed back, jazzy styled hip hop.
