I dont get my opinions from rappers. Let me tell you a story. My mother got cancer in 2001. She had just bought a car before she got sick. When she died I could not afford the payments on the car. I could not bear the thought of the bank takin the car, so I sold a little weed 2 try to keep it. Problem is there was a snake in tha grass (a piece of shit snitch) who ratted on me. Long story made short I was locked up like an animal 4 three months. (with murderers and rapists that could have killed me) Now tell me, what is the good in that? People need to mind their own business. Na mean? I posed no threat 2 anyone homie!

its called gentrification and its a fucked up process. The long-term effects of it are damaging to the current residents of the neighborhood.
Nicer houses and apartments will raise the property value of the land the old houses that surround them, in turn raising the tax levels and usually the rent because really the owners of the property want you to move out so that they can sale off the lot to commercial developers for WAAAAY more than what they paid for it in the first place.

Some are not even 15 years old. They are driven by poverty to seek employment in the city, lured by employment agencies that promise decent wages and good working conditions.
When they arrive in Cape Town, many of these promises turn out to be false. In the back room of a domestic service agency, “madams” come to choose their maids. They pay the agency between R100 and R200 to find them a domestic worker. Many of these up-country girls are taken to homes where they are abused and exploited, with no protection whatsoever. Some are paid only R400 ($51.94) a month yet are expected to work a 15-hour day, seven days a week. They are locked up on the property and allowed no visitors.

I will never apply for those jobs again. The hard labor jobs that are paying employees a low salary ought to be ashamed of themselves for taking advantage of people like that. People say all the time that school is so important to get a good job but everybody can't afford to go to school because school is too expensive. Plus school doesn't guarantee you a good job. If that was the case, there would be a lot of people with good paying jobs because they went to college or a job trade school. My boss at the job i have now wants me to dig a big hole tomorrow so i can put a big sign inside the hole for the apartment building i work at. I wish he would've hired a contractor to do that because i'm not a big guy and i don't wanna hurt my back doing that.

Men, women and children fill their sacks with bottles, plastic and tins and carry up them to their shacks, which teeter precariously around the edges of the disposal site. Once sorted, these items can be sold for a few rand to recycling plants. It is a grindingly hard existence, yet some people have lived like this for over thirty years…and little has changed.
Second Creek is less than three kilometers from the city centre and is one of the poorest communities in the area. Yet it has been completely overlooked by the municipality. The only service these people have ever received is tapped water. But each time elections come around, politicians come visiting. They promise houses, jobs and better service delivery. However, experience has shown that these promises may simply not be true. While the Premier of the Eastern Cape has launched an uncompromising programme for poverty eradication, is local government able or willing to play its part?

This week Special Assignment looks at the plight of thousands of Zimbabweans crossing the border into South Africa. To escape political turmoil and increasing food shortages, many risk the crocodile- infested Limpopo River and razor wire fences to get here.
We investigate persistent reports that more and more pregnant women are coming here illegally in an attempt to secure South African birth certificates for their babies. We follow two pregnant Zimbabwean women as they travel from the Beit Bridge border post to Johannesburg. 26-year-old Anita Luwish is blind and four months pregnant. She left Harare with her two small children after their shack was destroyed during Operation Clean-Up, President Mugabe’s attempt to clear Zimbabwe cities of shack dwellers and informal traders. After living off handouts on the streets of Musina, the border town near Beit Bridge, the two women and their children head for the city of promise, Johannesburg. But weeks after arriving, we find them begging at a robot in the city centre.

We also travel with 29-year-old Daphne Mashange who is seven months pregnant. She has a six months visitor’s visa and is hoping to give birth to her first born in a Johannesburg hospital. But the streets of central Johannesburg are dark and dangerous, and full of desperate homeless people. Many survive only off the charity of churches.
For many illegal immigrants, Johannesburg is not what it’s made out to be. They are in legal limbo as they cannot get refugee status and so are open to abuse and harassment. The number of refugees in South Africa is growing and they are considered by many South Africans as unwanted guests. This program takes us into the lives of some of them, as they try to survive in an inhospitable and alien city.

Koos Mitton never had it easy. As a child, he sometimes had to eat rotten meat and mouldy bread from dust bins. As a poor white under the apartheid government, Koos’s skin colour was supposed to get him benefits like free education, protected jobs and council housing. The system should, in fact, have propelled Koos from poverty to at least middle class comfort.
It never did. Like many others of a new generation of poor whites, Koos could never escape the poverty cycle. And with the demise of the apartheid government and all its support systems, more and more whites are squatting or living in squalor, struggling to adapt to a changing South Africa. According to some estimates, one in four whites now earns less than R1 500 ($194.80) per month and is regarded as poor. Figures show that wealthy white South Africans are getting richer by the day, but that the gap between wealthy whites and poor whites is, in fact, the fastest growing divide in the country

We visit the area traditionally known as “Wessies” or “Pretoria West” in Tshwane. This is where Koos shares a bed with his wife and five-year-old son in a wooden shack. Koos’s mother and her latest lover sleep barely a metre away in the same single- roomed structure. This is also where state controlled industries like ISCOR used to supply jobs to unskilled and semi-skilled whites – but they closed down one by one and the area plummeted. Here, poverty and its consequences are hidden away from the public eye in back yards, garages and the wooden sheds widely referred to as “Wendy’s”.
For many poor whites living here, these shelters are only a few steps away from the Green Dam… the place go to when you’ve lost everything and have no one to turn to

the first thing you should really do is see whats up with your brain. go see a doctor, runs some tests and find out whats wrong. hopefully there isnt a major problem. once you done that apply for a job that applies to your strengths. once you find a job you just have to work to get to the top. but u just have to apply and see what happens. cant always be thinking that they wont take you because of your problem.

I was watching this movie a few days ago because i haven't seen it in a long time. Remember the scene when Bugging Out goes to Sal's pizza place and he asks Sal how come there isn't any pictures of blacks on the wall? Bugging Out had some nerve to ask him that when Sal owns the place so he has a right to do what he wants since it's his business. Sal had pictures of italian people on the wall so that's why Bugging Out said what he said. So Bugging Out tells Sal he's gonna boycott his business and Sal throws him out. Before Bugging Out said what he said, he ordered a slice of pizza and when the pizza was done, he looked at it like he didn't know how much it costs. Sal said are you gonna pay now or pay on layaway? LOL. Sal said are you a retard? You come in here twice a day and you ask the same question about how much it costs. It's $1.50. Then another scene Radio Raheem comes in Sal's place blasting his boombox and he tries to order a pizza with the music blasting LOL. Sal told him when he comes in his place, he doesn't wanna hear his music. Later on during the end, Raheem and Bugging Out come to Sal's to start some shit. Raheem comes in Sal's again with the music blasting and Sal is screaming at him to turn it off but he doesn't. Bugging Out is hollering at Sal talking about we are shutting you down unless you get some pictures of blacks on that wall. So of course Sal takes a bat and fucks up Raheem's radio and they end up getting into a fight which also leads to other people in the pizza place fighting. All this shit started because of Raheem and Bugging Out's ignorant asses. Then Spike Lee does some ignorant shit by taking a garbage can and throwing it through the window of Sal's place because Raheem got killed by the cops. I kept messing up when i was driving his truck so i just gave up and stopped studying for my CDL license. I think iam gonna go see another psychiatrist because i want a different opinion and i want some tests run on my brain to see what's wrong. My mom told me yesterday that i need to get my own place and i told her i would if i had a job making some real money instead of the job i got right now making bullshit money. I work 2 jobs now and i'm tired of working 2 jobs and both jobs don't pay enough money for me to move outta my parents house. I get $9 a hour at my day job and at my night job, i get $6.65 a hour. That ain't shit. A damn high school student can get paid the same salary i'm getting. I'm so sick of my life. I swear i wanna kill myself so bad because i think i'd be better off dead anyway. I can't take care of myself making bullshit money and no job is gonna feel sorry for me and offer me a good paying job because don't nobody give a shit about me.

One other option is to work for a town or city parks department...they pay not too bad and you get more with seniority. If you live in a place that has snow in the winter then you can drive a plow when you arent maintaining the parks. Then you can actually work in a nice environment.

Well they just recently initiated a new test for highschool students to take before receiving a diploma. regardless of grades if you fail thats it no diploma. no continued education you must either try again or start working minimum wage jobs.

This test has created a lot of 18 year old adults with no diploma.

all of these adults will now be considered second class citizens because of their education. and most of the students that fail these tests are from the low income/ working income families with schools that are overpopulated with sub standard materials. It seems to me only those that have money will soon be the ones with the proper education and getting the good jobs while the rest just slave away the days in debt.

I mean ain't nothing being taken from us that the government hasn't already taken and spent on WAR and JAILS for the people right?

french ppl were the first to go to quebec thats why they refuse to speak english
and thats like not even half of the french, i got a close friend who moved there 3 years ago and its not all french everywhere like ppl were telling me


yep BUT
alot of french came from celtic backgrounds
irish, british, scottish, etc they were adopted by french families to populate quebec
and alot of them mixed with the indians (natives)

yeah its not french everywhere but quebec did get a scare
coz the french people wanted to separate awhile back

it just sucks for tourists coz the french ppl act as if they should know french (very rude) eventhough its multilingual

when i went to mtl i had a blast, went to my first bar trip there (at 16)
i didnt really talked much with french ppl since i was living on the english side
of the island,only french i talked were cool, they just told me they had problem with english born in mtl so i guess theyre just racist against the locals... i dont know if u took history class but you would of learned that french ppl first came to quebec and had a long ass war against the english, the english won but that doesnt mean that the quebec's citizens were ready
to abadon theyre culture and become english like when the spanish lost war,
they kept theyre culture and so did all the other countrys that got invaded.
