dude asked for "N.Y." meaning New York.......and Menace II Society & Boyz N The Hood are both west coast flicks, and Jasons Lyric is a dirty south flick.....

My bad, I actually just read the thread title again before looking in this thread and realised I made a mistake. I was just looking for the inevitable comments regarding not understanding properly, just as I reached your post, lol.

scrap those then and New Jersey drive, since it has New Jersey in the title, lol.

There is also a good movie with Black Thought from the The Roots, can't remember the title at moment, will check imdb later. Not sure if this is NY though.

That movie was called Brooklyn Babylon, it was about a jamaican guy (black thought's character) who falls for a jewish girl.

that's the one Tauro, thx for that. It's a great movie I thought, different from the others but not really a hood movie but has elements of that in it.

Clockers was actually a Richard Price novel that was written about Jersey, I love you Spike but you played us out by switching it to New York. The movie was ill but grab the book up, I couldn't put it down until I was finished.
