LOL on a side note, i read the top 10 rappers of all time list they have and Meth is at number 8.

8. Method Man

“A Star Trek phaser couldn't phase me”

“Harder than a dick on Viagra getting a lap dance”

“And when death calls I'm good, I got call ID.”

A distinct voice of the legendary Wu-Tang Clan that stepped up the level of lyricism and left a bigger buzz in the industry than a hoard of killer bees, Method Man’s contribution goes beyond his Wu-Tang collaborative projects and even beyond his four solos offerings. Method’s real strength is that when he spits a verse, any time, any place, chances are, you want to here it. He is a very efficient lyricist in that he uses few words to convey ideas and feelings by building on pre-existing relevant references and expanding without going too in depth, but linking it with the next thought; an eye opening glimpse after the other. GZA has often been praises as the best Wu lyricist, and there is no denying his talent for wordsmith and creating compelling imagery, yet Method Man’s overall abilities as an MC, including flow, form and flare makes him a slightly better rapper in my books. It also helps that he writes visceral verses as tight as a vice-grip.

Method Man in Words

“At war with them inner demons, it's going down
Invasion, U.S.A., spitting rounds
If these shells hit the battleground, pave the way
for birth of a Generation, X
Spoken with a project dialect, bomb threat
to the air waves, hit the deck
Pressed for time in a world lacking sunshine
Got love for my family, cause they mine
See ni*gaz dying in the streets over petty crimes
We gonna eat, or die trying, got my mind made up
Young buck, just don't give a f*ck, pressing they luck
When they best, best to give it up, perfect world
Baby what? N*gga head or gut, them or us
Welcome to the dark ages, dirty pages
Of filth, fine filth flavors
Dust to dust, and ashes to ashes, life flashes
Right before his eyes, then he passes”

Method Man’s Discography

Tical (1994) *** (3/5)
Tical 2000 (1998) ***** (5/5)
Blackout! (1999) f/Redman ***** (5/5)
Tical 0: The Prequel (2004) *** (3/5)
4:21: The Day After (2006) **** (4/5)

Masters of the Universe should be top 5 on there.

lol it actually starts off nice, One Be Lo deserves every mention he can get

he was trying to make a lyrical list, but failed really hard, even the canibus quote was lame and boring.

I hate lists like this...u know what's a good list? Top20 lyrical underground rappers worth checking in my opinion, and then u name them, type some dope quotes, and tell which albums are worth your time.

My list would contain OneBeLo, Tonedeff, Sage, MF Doom, Chino XL, Cannibal Ox, Vakill, Ras Kass, RA the Rugged Man, Copywrite,....

Now that's a kind of list seeds could learn about dope rappers....

MaskedAvenger
10-26-2009, 04:03 AM
I would of put Doom, Sage, Ams Uno, Chino, Juice, Ras Kass, Punch, Freestyle, Jeru, Keith,

YungSunny

i wudnt knock sum1 for sayin common was underground ... at one point u could argue that -- even tho he was signed 2 a major

Considering Finding Forever and Things Fall Apart both went gold....

And didn't things fall apart get a grammy?

20. Edan – The Beauty and the Beat (2005) <dope album, should be much higher on the list
19. Binary Star – Masters of the Universe (2000)<dope album, again should be much higher on the list
18. Viktor Vaughn – Vaudeville Villain (2003)<decent album but far from Doom's best
17. One Be Lo – S.O.N.O.G.R.A.M. (2005)<decent album, but not a top 20 underground album
16. Killah Priest – The Offering (2007)<has it's moments but definitely not a top 20 underground album
15. One Man Army – Project: F.E.T.U.S. (2002)<some good shit on here but not a top 20 underground album
14. Talib Kweli – Eardrum (2007)<has it's moments but definitely not a top 20 underground album
13. Talib Kweli – Beautiful Struggle (2004)<has it's moments but definitely not a top 20 underground album
12. Immortal Technique – Revolutionary Vol. 1 (2001)<good album, but a top 20 underground album?, I don't think so
11. J-Live – The Hear After (2005)<good album but not J-Live's best album
10. Killah Priest – Heavy Mental (1998)<dope album and even though I wouldn't put it in a top 20- list, it would make it in a top 50 one
9. Gang Starr – Moment of Truth (1998)<far from Gang Starr's best work
8. Canibus – For Whom the Beats Toll (2007)<I have never been a Canibus fan and I thought this album wasn't very good.
7. Common – Finding Forever (2007)<This album underground?, NO and top 20 underground?, Hell NO
6. Cannibal Ox – The Cold Vein (2001)<dope, one of my favourite albums of all time
5. Immortal Technique – Revolutionary Vol. 2 (2003)<good album, but a top 20 underground album?, I don't think so
4. The Roots – Things Fall Apart (1999)<dope album, but not The Roots best album to me
3. Common – Resurrection (1994)<classic Hip Hop album, I don't know if I would call it underground though.
2. Canibus – Rip the Jacker (2003)<never been a fan of Canibus
1. Canibus – MicClub: The Curriculum (2002)<never been a fan of Canibus, the best underground rap album?...don't make me laugh

No Company Flow- Funcrusher Plus...that album is pretty much the blueprint for underground Hip Hop
No Aesop Rock- Labor Days
No Lootpack-Soundpieces
No Aceylalone/Freestyle Fellowship
No Jedi Mind Tricks
I would have put on Ultramagnetic MC's-Critical Beatdown
NO Enter The 36 Chambers?
the list goes on...

yea, i like talib, common and bus. but black star should be higher than eardrum for sure. be>finding forever (not to mention its more "underground"). Jedi mind should be on there. i can't be mad at canibus cause i probably agree.
