Who better to handle the delicate subject of Islam's Prophet Muhammad than a producer on The Matrix, Face/Off, and Alien Dragon vs. Vikings: The Movie? No one. He's obviously the best choice to help make something with so much potential for angry, violent responses. So let's go ahead with this (Thanks, Sharkey):

American Barrie Osborne, who also produced The Matrix, told Reuters the film would be an "international epic" aimed at "bridging cultures".
In accordance with Islamic rules, the Prophet cannot be depicted on screen. Images of the Prophet are considered blasphemous by Muslims.

The $150m (£91m) English language film should go into production in 2011.

I wonder who's going to not play him...

well there shouldnt be any outrage considering that a movie was already made on the prophets life back in the 70's called 'The Message', which was a pretty good movie. it didnt show the prophet in the movie but it really didnt matter.

haha

This shit is beyond stupid.

I guess the film industry is dying so you can cut them some slack for all the remakes and sequels, but a movie about Muhammad? A character you can't even fucking show on screen?

I know HAN said that there was one before which was decent, but i find it hard to believe.

There will be some wild reaction to this, and western faggits will talk about how muslims are overreacting etc. (even though christian's couldn't handle christ having sex on screen).

This movie will FAIL on a level we have never seen before. I know its stereotypical but I can see suicide bombers attending all of the world premieres and killing everyone in the theater on some jihad shit.
