(http://screenrant.com/tag/kick-ass/)Kick-Ass (http://screenrant.com/tag/kick-ass/) is based the comic-series written by Mark Millar and illustrated by John Romita, Jr. and the film adaptation (written by Jane Goldman) stays true to the story about a young student named Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson) who makes the decision to become a “real-life superhero.” (http://screenrant.com/tag/kick-ass/)
After making his costume and naming himself “Kick-Ass” and sets out to fight crime while not actually having any superpowers himself. This leads to more heroes and villains as the harsh realization of what being a superhero is all about sets in, surrounded in a nice comedic tone.

yeah seems like it'll be a little on the funny side.
doesn't look to do the comic justice which is sad inferring that off a teaser but ill watch regardless.

maybe im speaking too soon

the last few issues of the comic were made concurrently with the film so they ended up influencing each other.

i think we are all jumping the gun on inferring so much about the tone from the trailer...this is marketing, the ad-people probably are trying to market it as superbad with superheroes or something.

I think thats spot on, I can see why they would want to try and potray it that way.
