I don't like to mention artists I respect in a bad light, but it's discussions like this that prove how much we care about them in the first place, which is a good thing if we give a fair opinion. So with that, here's a few joints that nearly made me put my head in da toilet and pull the lever..

There was some songs on this late 90's release by G Rap & his crew that kind of made me cringe, only because I felt like he was venturing into a Club Banger-type sound that didn't allow him to express the greatest part of his talent, which is that lyrical, mafiosio, storytelling legend we know him as. The follow-up release on Rawkus was more satisfying to my ears, he returned back to his roots. Oh well, I can't blame artists for taking a reach towards more exposure in their careers.

I remember this album getting a great deal of heat from some critics and die hard fans, he came correct on the follow up, Eardrum.

Here's a funny one from Mr. J T Smith released in between Mama Said and 14 Shots
a couple honorable mentions:
Pete Rock & Dead Prez - Warzone I could tell they wanted to take a reach away from their normal style on purpose, but I don't like the song because it sounds like that reach is forced. I can imagine them doing something so much more creative and original than having to resort to imitating that popular "club" style.
THe Legendary beatbox Doug E Fresh appearing in Lil Will's video for "My Dougie", that wack ass song...

huh? for real? i lurk on here alot and agree with most of what you say but this track is close to genius. granted its not something you would bump in your ride but its good storytelling with a twist. i guess its out of his "lane" cuz of the voice change but its still a good track.

yea homie definitely an odd submission!!!!!!
i didnt know nas coming with a concept driven story track was outta his lane!!!!!!!!!!
the approach to writing "who kilt it" was so elaborate and big itd be hard for me to consider that a wack record!!!!!!
to add to this thread, i got a good fuckin laugh at jay-z's "forever young" off the blueprint 3!!!!!! that shit is probably merking gay wedding playlists right now!!!!!!!! one of the worst jay songs ever, easy!!!!!!
