I think this choice depends on your view of hip hop, people have a different ear on what comes out and it's level of recognition, so the choices are bound to vary. I agree with everybody's choices so far, alota talent in those

Godfather Don was the 1st cat that popped into my head honestly, during the heyday of Stretch & Bobbito's show he blew me away with a slew of bangers and original sound. He's no joke on the mic too, on his first album Hazadous he had a Rakim influence, but eventually found his own style through indie releases on Hydra records

Ultramagnetic MCs - Raise It Up

Godfather Don - Properties of Steel, Seeds of Hate, World Premiere, Do My Thing, Piece of The Action, Slave Of New York, and many more classics

The Cenubites - Lex Lugor, I Was Forgotten

I was unlikely to hear these joints anywhere else 'cept a select few underground radio shows. Even today, I feel he doesn't get as much props or light as his music deserves because his output slowed down during the late 90's. Thankfully he has material that has been re-issued recently.

He's the type of dude that I think would scare many current producers if he came out with this caliber of material today, just from the unique way of thinking you hear in his music that makes his tracks come out so dope.

Don collaborated with V.I.C. of The Beatnuts to form as The Groove Merchantz for this dope b-side remix of Nas' One Love

Betta lay off them drugs homebuoy.... I can't front though, the level of crap hip hop music out there nowadays makes me wanna spark up a blunt and git high from time to time, to ease the madness left on my eardrums

Nick Wiz (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8173cx-WZY) - He goes back to the mid 90's, the Cella Dwellas, Chino XL and Rakim have all allowed to produce most their albums.

Bink! (Kool G Rap feat. Prodigy - Where Ya At, Jay-Z - All I Need, Ruler's Back, Beanie Sigel - Ride 4 My)- He's done some outstanding work on commercially acclaimed albums, but I still think for his level of talent he could be out there more with a larger hip hop production catalog. I heard in an interview that hip hop doesn't appeal to him lately.

S.C. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Hukurl9DAs) - (Mobb Deep - Double Shots, Narcotic, Young Buck - Gone In The Morning, Hell Rell - Ice Cream With It) The first I heard of him was from dope beats he laid on Mobb's indie album released on Landspeed between Murda Musik & America's Nightmare. He's got a mixtape with Just Blaze hosting out there co-signing his talent. Check the video of him and Havoc in the studio:

I think some Wu producers are real good but kinda slept from being in the shadow of RZA, like Inspectah Deck, Carlos Bess (Shabazz - Crime Saga), Supreme (Sunz of Man - No Love Without Hate), R.N.S. (UMCs, Shyheim, Gravediggaz - Diary of A Madman)

word on that....Zone always been nice wit it...

Celph Titled belongs on this list....

Necro is perpetually on this list...

Ohmega Watts.....

L.E.S. is always forgotten when it comes time to hand out props to 90's heads....

same with DR Period and D-Dot....

Evidence don't get the props he should...

Thes One should be more praised....

Ant always has done his thing....

I always try to remember to big up Young Lord, he's been slept on since the 90's as well...

Damu The Fudgemunk is uber slept on....that man is nice as shit wit his...

Props to the man who mentioned Nick Wiz, that man has been doin his shit...made some classics with Milkbone and Ra...

there's a lot of guys out there that don't get the props they deserve....

^Ant for sho is a dope producer.

you rarely see the Beatnuts get mentioned on this site at least. they are really dope on the production tip.

Subroc - a lot of heads would jsut assume Doom did production for KMD, it was mostly Subroc

Falling Down - done a lot of nice shit with Killarmy

and there is one cat i forget his name, he did a few joints for BIG, something Myrick? he is sick

Detroit Legend Esham gets mad forgotten by a lot of so called "Hip-Hop fans" , but yeah it kinda depends on where you're located because he's got a big name in Michigan and other areas in the Midwest but I don't know about other states....
