Its a good solid list you've got there, i can agree with alot of it !
what im missing here is shit like :

one of these two, it keeps switching, but these two albums has had heavy rotation since day 1.
Little Brother - The Listening.
Little Brother - The Ministel Show.

and not to forget -

The Foreign Exchange - Connected
really dope and most refreshing album, hit me spot on for some reason.. the beats , the rhymes, the whole vibe is just that "feel real good" feeling nah mean. its an everyday banger that kick-starts yo day with a positive mind!

Last note :

De La Soul - the Grind Date, i would def switch places with big boi - Speakerboxxx.. but thats just me, i aint frontin on yo list homie..

nonetheless this is a very good presentation of what could be the 51 illest albums ( 2000-2009)

^ i'd go as far as sayin those 3 albums deserves a place in every collection, on any list thats my word ! looking back now, i would def feel like i had missed out if i didnt have these 3.. dont matter if it be mps, cd's or vinyl.

Keep up this good work man, i appreciate it !

Thank for the list claaa7. I haven't heard every album on here, but hope to get caught up on ones I missed. When I check people's list I always hope to get put onto some good hip hop I might have passed on in previous years.

I haven't heard that Killah Priest, I don't know why I've overlooked on his more recent work, maybe because his airplay and promotion has seemed to get lower like some other talented Wu affiliates. To me his songs have alot of depth so it takes a little longer to absorb. I'll check for that album now

I've heard good things about Brother Ali, and I heard him on White Van Music. I'm gonna check out that Black Album.

Good work on the Honorable Mentions too. I would have put Reflection Eternal's Train of Thought up somewhere in the main list around OB4CL2 and Blueprint, even though it was a small budget project from Rawkus, I think the creative impact it brought to hip hop is undeniable. But all it depends on how you personally feel about certain albums at the end of the day and the impact they left on you life.

I think Hi-Tek is one person who changed the sound of drums over the last decade along with Jay Dee, Dre and Timbaland. I was thinking, does Dre's 2001 deserve to be on the list? Then I looked and saw it came out Nov. 1999.

I think lists like these should be a sticky at the top of the forum for a few months to let people know what to buy

HONORABLE MENTIONS
Fashawn - Boy Meets World
OC - Bon Appetit (EU Version)

I've heard some damn good things about that Fashawn LP, I'm pickin it up soon.

Haven't heard a Euro version of OC's Bon Appetit, does that have bonus cuts? I remember a couple white label 12" floating around before it's release

yeah that Fashawn is definitely worth picking up.. very talented kid and a good mixture of sounds and styles on that record.

yeah the euro version of "Bon Appetit" has 3 bonus tracks that are all as good as the illest of the main tracks: 'Ex-O-Cise', 'Half Good, Half Sinner' and 'Bonafide' (ft. Jay-Z). i only managed to get the US version on CD tho.

You have either never heard Loso's Way or your a complete moron. No Fabulous fan would say that was his best album, thats just fucking laughable, its by far the most dissapointing release of his career. It had one good track, Lullaby, and thats it.

Nearly every other track was a love song, or a shitty rnb attempt.

You are fucking embarrasment, no one liked Loso's way, not even his biggest male fans.

and the kid is crazy with the rhymes. if you dont know now you know.

SMH you corny belgium fuck!!

But well done for reading somewhere that Fab can rap!, everyone else outside of Belgium, knew this about 10 years ago, we dont care anymore, his albums suck!

this list blows.

It blows because it lacks epicness and defining albums of their time. I dont have problem with backpackers being stereotypical backpackers, but they lack objectivity more than any other breed of music fan. (this is not totally aimed at Claa7, I think Claaa7 is a good poster).

I think all of these albums that you left out Claa7 are default in a top 50 list

No Lord Willin?
No Hell Hath?
No Stankonia?
No btnhressurection?
No Electric Circus?
No Dwight Spitz?
No Dirty Harriet?
No Mm Food?
No The Gift?
No the Unseen?
No Dynasty Roc La Familia?
No Downfall of Iblyss?
No Carter 2?
No Diplomatic Immunity?
No Camron?
No The Inspiration?

But if thats too long, if you are really saying this album isn't even in your top 51

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/0b/OutKast_-_Stankonia.JPG

Then it kinda makes your whole list voided. I dont wanna go to far but seriously if you dont feel shit like B.O.B, Gasoline Dreams, Ms Jackson, So Fresh So Clean etc, you just aint hearing right. This album contained some of the best tracks of the decade, and B.O.B, which was the best song of the decade, and one of the best hip hop songs of all time,.!!

Of ALL TIME!!![/kanye]

oh yeah, and diplomatic immunity was such a legendary movement the fact you can ignore that genre defining harlem renaissance is unforgivable!!

No offence Claaaa but I think youve made some pretty big ommissions and some of the inclusion are puzzling at best!

No Lord Willin?
No Hell Hath?

none taken, thx for the feedback - as i said this is a personal list with my personal choices; not by any means trying to list the "most important" releases or essential shit of the decade. just the shit that's sounding best for my ears and that's really not debatable. The Clipse is an ill duo but i never really got into the production on those albums, which is why they wasn't included on the list.

No Stankonia?
this one should probably be included, only problem is that i haven't listened to it in YEARS. i remember liking it alot back then and if i took the time to re-visit it i might had included it.

No btnhressurection?
No Electric Circus?
No Dwight Spitz?
No Dirty Harriet?
no, every album on my list is iller than those imo.

No Mm Food?
No The Gift?
No the Unseen?
those are slept on and i have actually not heard all of it yet.

No Dynasty Roc La Familia?
this was definitely considered for the list, but i feel that "Black Album" and "The Blueprint" is iller.

No Downfall of Iblyss?
No Carter 2?
No Diplomatic Immunity?
No Camron?
No The Inspiration?
besides the MF Grimm album i'm not a fan of those artists, although I admit of sleeping on alot of their material.

Petestrumentals at 3rd?

Come on son!!

hell yeah, it deserves to be in a top-5 of the decade no doubt, at least the 2nd edition with the 5 vocal joints (CL Smooth, Freddie Foxxx, The UN & Nature) sprinkled throughout. i think you need to re-visit that one Laced.

props for all the feedback from everyone

alrite peace claaaaaa7

The good thing about your list is that theyre all good albums, theres no bullshit on there, and I could listen to all of them without complaints!

the fact though that we both have slight variations of taste in a few other areas shows that hip hop was alive in the double O's in terms of variation!
