lemme explain watchmen being there...i am a huge fan of the graphic novel and i felt the adaptation was shitty and boring, alan moore was right in saying that it really cant be adapted. however i cant help but think that visually it was one of my favorite movies of the year..and still all in all its a better comic book movie than alot of comic book movies.

^^YES! Watchmen is a GREAT movie! I was shocked that it didn't make that much at the box office. Watchmen is such an underrated movie.

1.) Avatar
2.) Watchmen
3.) District 9
4.) Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen
5.) Public Enemies

I can't believe anyone liked District 9, it has one of the worst plots I've seen in years, I know it's not all about the plot but aliens living in ghettoes in johannesburg and a guy turning into one of them after getting sprayed with their goo ... seriously ?

Boris Johnson is too gangster for harry potter.

But dont take offence im just saying YOU NEED to catch Avatar at an Imax 3D before it ends. Its a complete revolution in film making, a great story, and a amazing experiance.

Its not just about its incredible visuals though, I think the story was well told and well acted.

For me the worst film of 2009 was 2012. Absolutely fucking awful.

in my personal opinion 2012 was the largest piece of turd ever shitted onto a filmreel. I knew before I watched it that it was going to suck, but I was looking forward at least to watch the supposedly amazing special effects, which I thought would make up for the obviously terrible film.

they didnt.

I mean the effects werent really interesting at all. just a load of big waves and volcanos and repetitive action scenes. they repeated one scene exactly twice. of a plane flying low through destruction.

the story was pure turd and about as cliche and half assed as I have ever seen in my life, the character development was done by an 8yr old with an etch-a-sketch.

There were so many laughably bad scenes it got me wondering what happened to block busters. They never used to be this bad. Shit like Terminator and Jurrasic Park had amazing special effects but they also had interesting characters and good drama.

Thank god for James Camerons Avatar is all I can say.

well one could argue the irrelevance of ANY movie.
they all serve the purpose of entertainment in one form or another.

lol im not sure at which aspect you meant pandering but in the sense im understanding i saw nothing of the sort.

it was just a fun, for kicks kinda flick tho they do try and give the movie an underlining deeper weight that wasn't completely necessary but it was what it was.

the exaggerated dynamics between the trekkers n star wars geeks was pretty funny
the end seems to dizzle as far as the story goes but the soundtrack keeps it afloat

imo

transformers --- great animation and was a fave when i was a kid.
Up --- had it's funny moments but overall wasn't a top movie.
new moon --- Had to watch this, but was better than i would have expected for a chick flick -.-.
watchmen --- found this to be a good movie but at some parts got very boring.
the hangover --- found it very stupid comedy and fell asleep fast...
district 9 --- i found interesting but i didn't like the way the movie was filmed.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine --- loved this movie, not one boring scene and would recomend it to anyone who likes alot of fighting, (love how they actually have gambit in one of the movies.)
