Some nice music up there Drunken Monk, 2 Pac definitely made some of my all time mellow hip hop songs to listen and reflect on life. That Nas "Just A Moment" is a real nice song, one of the best on Street's Disciple.

I definitely mix those mellow-type songs in with my daily hip hop listening, to put me in a calm mood and set my mind straight, Here's a few of my favs:

JloF4ydTo4A

Common - almost too many to mention, he was great at this and I love all the ones he did: I Used To Love Her, Nuthin To Do, Nag Champa, Ghetto Heaven, Break My Heart, etc.

Jay-Z - Song Cry, Some How Some Way, Never Change (he speaks about ghetto life in a way which is very touching)
Ghostface Killah - All That I Got Is You
Scarface - Mary Jane, Heaven
RZA as Bobby Digital - Love Jones
Nas, Nature & Noreaga - Triple Threat
Immortal Technique - You Never Know
Dead Prez - W-4 (sad one about the economic state and workforce of America)
The Roots - Silent Treatment, You Got Me
Eric B & Rakim - Relaxed With Pep
LL Cool J - Power of God, Hey Lover
Mobb Deep - Temperature's Rising, Time Is Here feat. R-Kelly
Ras Kass - Understandable Smooth, It Is What It Is (from Rassasination era)
Heavy D - Got Me Waiting
Ronny Jordan feat. Mos Def - A Brighter Day DJ Spinna Remix

I could use some more mellow hip hop to start this week off, good posts by everyone. I look forward to songs where artists tap into their mind and emotions, instead of actin hard all the time or dumming down to cater to the fast-food, mass production cycle of hip hop

Common feat. Erykah Badu - All Night feat. The Roots on production, beautiful Fender Rhodes arrangement on that song
Clipse feat. Pharrell - I'm Good is a song with energy, but mellow at the same time when I hear it & makes me feel good about myself
Jay Dee - Think Twice (live interpolation of Donald Byrd's classic)
Lord Finesse - Soul Plan feat. Roy Ayers
Timbaland - Apologize feat. One Republic is energetic, but meloow to me also, the singing and rhythm relaxes me.
Gangstarr - Betrayal, She Knows What She Wants
RZA - Wherever I Go
BDK - Taste of Chocolate
MC Lyte - Eyes Are The Soul
