It even has its own name!! Its the concept of "Yiush", my browser homepage is set on random wikipedia articles, and an article on Yiush (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yiush) just showed up. I had never heard of "yiush" before.

Heres the first paragraph description:

Yiush is a concept in the Talmud regarding a Jew who loses an object (aveidoh) and another Jew finds it and the person who lost it is determined to have given up on the object. The general rule is that the original's owners "yiush" (giving up hope on finding the object) releases the object into the public domain, thereby allowing a finder of the object to keep it and releasing the finder from the obligation to return it to the original owner.
HAHHAHAHAHHahahhahahah!!

LOL THis is some low down dirty shit!! And its right there in the Talmud!! Basically endorsing stealing as clear as day! Under some bullshit "law" that the person who loses something, also loses their "right" to own it because....well..

...JUST BECAUSE

It's hard to imagine that much commotion can come out of that worthless strip of land.

Haha, someone should just nuke the gaza-strip..just completely annihilate that piece of earth. Turn it into "Lake Gaza". Like when 2 kids fight over a candy, just take the candy away so that noone can have it.

You misinterpreted that piece of text.

The other "holy books" are full of far more ridiculous ideas (as is the Torah i guess), you probably could have found a more genuinely amusing one if you looked hard enough.

I dont see how ive misinterpreted.

To put it simply, this is what its saying; If you lose your Dog that youve had for 10 years. Weeks, months go by and you still havent found your Dog, and you finally give up and realise your Dog isnt coming back (because you think maybe hes dead). Now say if someone else actually found your Dog, and they have decided to keep your dog.

Now one day you are out and you see these other people out walking your Dog, according to the Talmud, that Dog is no longer yours, you have no right to ask for your Dog back, because yo had given up looking, and therefore the Dog is now up for grabs.

This is the fucked up world these people live in. In fact, a Dog might not of been a good example. Lets say, a yo-yo. Lets say you lost your yo-yo somewhere, that you paid for. In fact, you didnt pay for it, it was given to you by your deceased Grandfather as a parting gift. You look for it for a while, but cant find it. So you move on. You later see someone else playing with your yo-yo (no homo), and you ask them to give it back. Under the Talmud, the yo-yo is no longer yours, and they can keep it.

This just makes me laugh because a jewish friend of mine has a strange habit of finding money at random opportune moments. One day he found a bill twenty in an envelope on the ground. Free weed is always welcome lol.
