first off i just gotta say that both Raekwon and Cormega really brought the heat with their long-awaited albums this year and that I enjoyed both of them thoroughly. secondly, take note that this is not an "OB4CL2" vs. "Born And Raised" thread since we all know who's gonna come out victorious off that (especially on a Wu forum).

my question is who you felt had the stronger producer line-up of the two (on paper since "Ob4cl2" was the stronger album in most opinion i believe).

Rae had:
* RZA
* J Dilla
* Dr. Dre
* Pete Rock
* Marley Marl
* Allah Mathematics
* Necro
* MoSS
* Scram Jones

Mega had:
* DJ Premier
* Pete Rock
* Large Professor
* Buckwild
* Ayatollah
* Easy Mo Bee
* Havoc
* Fizzy Womack
* Nottz
* D/R Period
* L.E.S.

damn this is a really hard question.. where Rae had J Dilla and RZA, Mega had Primo and Large Pro. both of these are fucking "Illmatic" line-ups and are probably the best looking albums on paper in a very long time (both sounds fresh as hell to my ears too).

Those are both very strong lineups, almost hard to decide between the 2. I think what matters most in the end is which lineup did a better job in creating the final songs of the 2 albums, because it's hard to compare each lineup of producers accomplishments/level of skill combined since they are so close. The final listening impact of the music created by each lineup should be compared.

A few important factors that make a good album for me and would help me choose:

If I'm gonna choose by historic accomplishments and impact of the producers on hip hop in addition to bringing dope production which competes with today's generation, I'd pick Rae's lineup. The fact that Marley is on the list give it the extra edge above Cormega's.

If I choose by who has newer ideas, style and variety of sound to offer overall in a collective of dope producers, I'll go with Cormega. He's got the classic legends in addition to guys like Nottz, Ayatollah, Havoc and Fizzy who bring cutting-edge sounds or produce in a way you might not have heard before.
