Ya'll know what record company i'm talking about that Berry owned which was Motown. I know it was difficult back in the day for a black person to own a record company but Berry made it happen. I'm glad he came along when he did and started Motown because Motown put black r&b music on the map and became successful. Motown had so many good r&b artists when the label started in the 60's such as Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, The Temptations, The Four Tops, The Supremes, The Jackson 5, Stevie Wonder. Then in the 70's and 80's, the label had The Commodores and Debarge. Are there any other black owned record companies that had a lot of r&b artists? I think Philadelphia International records was owned by black producers Kenneth Gamble and Leon Huff.
