America' problem is our assumption that education is a solution to all our problems. We forget that our country was based on agrarian principles, working man individualism, respect based on merit. Our technological prowess is setting us up for a fall. We've lost touch with our roots. We're so money driven we don't look at the point of the money, which is as a tool to allow happiness, not the happiness itself.
Our unions talk about foreign industrial practices as evil when it was the same practices that built our country. They complain about Chinese and Mexican low wages but forget that its not that their prices are inhuman but ours are disgustingly inflated. The average Chinese worker might only make about 3000 dollars a year, but that is not real poverty that's a solid wage. In the 1950s ours was almost identical. And guess what, our economy was doing awesome back then, we were the China of the world.
If we want to compete we need to deflate our money again, lower wages across the board, and get used to the idea that you need to work hard for your money. Modern Americans are lazy fat and overpaid. We need to get back in touch with our glory days. Lets build factories lets fucking compete with china. If we can make cheap goods here too, and better goods, we can balance our economies shrinkage. We earn less we spend less. Its a system that makes sense. American's will become frugal instead of blatant consumers wasting our resources. China will need to grow their own markets and we'll be able to form a strong trade partner, a partnership that goes both ways.
That's what America needs to do. Not increase taxes on the rich to give to poor or regulate our economics to protect our inflated wages. We need to get rid of regulation and say "free market, solve our problems" and they will be solved. Because Adam Smith understood how the world works. Capitalism is the solution.
