props for posting, definitely gonna check it out altho i gotta say that my expectations aren't sky-high. i was hoping for some outside production to mastermind this shit and would have been nice with some more hip-hop features, great to see De La Soul is back for another collabo tho!

Can't wait to peep this, I hope they stray away from that pop shit.

^ well Damon said in an interview that this album is "the most pop album" he's ever made, but that doesen't nesseserily mean that it will be a bunch of radio friendly hit tracks, and hopefully it'll have that experimental sound to it ive grown familiar with on their previous albums, with some wierd spaced out tracks too. either way im pretty hyped for this.

and i think its a pretty fair amount of hiphop collabs on this albums. I personally dont want to see too many rappers being featured. just a few tracks to give the sound of the ablum as a whole alittle variety is good enough for me.

alot of the Gorillaz 'pop' type music was pretty good. beat anything on the radio anyway.

cant wait to hear the outcome of the newly recruited Mos Def.

I like the new feel to it. Like old school 80s, mixed with some new effects.
Reminds me of Depeche Mode.
Good to see Mos Def on there.

^ye its a good song. Im looking forward to hearing the other song with Mos Def "Sweepstakes", Mos said that doing that song was one of the greatest things he's ever done as an mc, so it better be good.

that album cover looks pretty dope. ill be coping this no doubt.

yeah when damon says pop he probably means the songs will have catchy hooks and danceable music. the guest line-up is exciting, damon knows his hiphop

This looks very promising. As far as full length albums go, Gorillaz are 2 for 2 so far (with their 2nd album being better than the one before it). For those worried about this album, you should try to remember Gorillaz were never a hip-hop band. They had elements of many different styles.

Damn right. You gotta love that Gorillaz keep it real to music legends: De La Soul, Pharcyde, Del Tha Funkee Homosapien, Talking Heads, Neneh Cherry, MF Doom, Ike Turner, and now Mos Def and Bobby Womack. Fucking quality.

Anybody copped or listened to this in full yet? I'm gonna go pick it up tomorrow, can't wait.

Oh, and the video for "Stylo" is amazing. The guys behind Gorillaz are some crazy, highly imaginative motherfuckers no doubt.

Being honest, i never thought much of the Gorillaz albums.

They were good in bits, but nothing special to me.

This is killer though.

The track with Snoop is next level as are the beats in general.

Great album, as expected. Today I listened to all 3 of their albums (yeah, I know they have more if you count B-Sides, D-Sides, etc but those aren't proper albums) and was really taken by how engaging each one of them is. Really different soundscape. Their first being their most upbeat, their 2nd being their darkest, and finally their latest being the most laid back. All 3 are hella experimental, and they have yet to really repeat themselves.

I did the same. Gorillaz are definitley a timeless group for just how fresh they are, I can see myself playing their shit in years time and still being blown away.

Apparently this will be their last album, but Damon Albarn has said that after their last two so who knows? Personally, I'm gonna digest more of this latest offering and then see if I'd want more.

I've had this about a week and its pretty solid. Have to agree that my fav track so far is Empire Ants. It's not as good as Demon Dayz but its just about impossible to top that classic.
