I have always liked the music in Capcom and Konami games. Shinobi and Streets of Rage had good music also. I used to go to options menu and spit over those beats in the sound test.

I like to hear rappers sample videogame sound effects in their songs like Little Flip(what's the name of the first single from his double cd Can You Feel Me and the hook goes who they want, Flip Flip Flip? That's a tight song.) I think Beanie Siegel sampled Pac Man videogame effects on Beanie Man song on his first album and Smif And Wessun and Mr Cheeks of Lost Boys sampled Super Mario Brothers videogame effects on Super Brooklyn song.

Oh yeah, I dig the video game music, not enough that I would actually go out and buy a whole album of it, but yeah I like it. I think I remember late 80's game music alot more than today's games.
Hearing the catchy music from Mega Man 2, Ninja Gaiden (NES version), Strider, Rad Racer, Double Dragon, Mario 3, Castlevania and role-playing arcade games pumped my adrenaline while fighting through all sorts of shit as a gamer.

Here's a dope video game sample in hip hop if you haven't already heard it Charles, from Oh No who is a video game head from Cali.

I was always into game soundtracks. Eternal champions is great, Street fighter HD remix is friggin amazing. Some SNK stuff here and there, and ALOT of the Epic scores like God of war, Gears of War, Devil may cry etc.

I love a lot of the in-game music from the 8-16 bit generations, after that it's hit or miss for me.
Marvel vs Capcom 2 had an awesome soundtrack...I used to love kickin' some ass listening to those corny ass songs!

How many of y'all used to smoke a blunt and then go inside and play the entire sound test on an SNES game's options menu?
I did that shit religiously as a teenager lol.

This might be kinda cheating since its not 8-bit type music but I fuck with the Shadow of the Colossus soundtrack hardcore
If you never played the game either do yourself a favor and go cop that right now, I know you still got the ps2 around somewhere
Max Payne 1 theme was cool.
