another thread im interested in reaching a verdict

i have never been a big fan of def but his auditorium song with rick just hits me in the forehead everytime i hear it, and try and listen to his catologue (hit me up with albums i should foucus on cause i know he aint no joke) but i have only been listening to doom for about 2-3 years

so for me this thread its gunna be some recent shit that makes me go "hmmmm - .......... wow"

fyi im not voting in this poll - i think both mc's have equal skills and i cant decide who to give the math too. piece - think before you vote, fame aint part of the game

both emcees are in my top 10

so i couldnt really pick either but im more of a DOOM fan. the whole DOOM catalogue is bangin, while Mos Def dropped a couple weaker ones, New Danger and True Magic, although those albums do grow on you.

my vote goes DOOM in the end, better overall catalogue.

You fucked up that link.

On topic, I'm gonna have to go with Mos Def by a close margin. I find both MCs equally entertaining in terms of what they're talking about, although DOOM has cracked me the fuck up a few times with the shit he comes out with, and musically they're both on point.

I'm picking Def though because of variability subject wise. I love the shit DOOM talks about and probably wouldn't want him any other way as it'd just be changing his set style completely; I just feel Mos Def covers a wide range of stuff that can make people think about certain areas that a lot of MCs don't cover (his songs "Mr. Nigga", "Mathematics", and "Water" for example) so therefore is probably the more rounded MC.

Hopefully I'm gonna be seeing this guy in April as well and I'm pretty damn sure it's gonna be more than entertaining.

Love both dudes, but Mos Def takes it for me.

pretty hard choice imo, DOOM is a master of witty wordplay while Mos Def got more substance imo. i think i prefer Mos voice in the long run but damn this wasn't an easy pick, i'm gonna chicken out and call it a draw actually

yeah but does that make him a better artist?? Mos Def's first album was recorded in '94 tho, with the group Urban Thermo Dynamics

no i was just simply stating doom had been killin it long before mos def lol

and ye i know Def dropped in 94 (still cant find that thermo dynamics joint tho), and Mos been killin since those days too.

im a big fan of both in the end, both exceptional emcees. they are both coming to toronto i believe at the end of the month, imma hit that up.
