My friends,

For far too long, the powers that be have, and will continue to, create a vicious cycle of power mongering and rights depletion until all that stands is a totalitarian government where a once free nation stood. We allow this to happen because we are blindly content with a state of affairs that imprisons us to our barely adequate lifestyles with a gadget for every occasion to make our lives easier. We sit back and bask in the glory of sub-reality TV stars and anointed pop divas, all the while ignoring our futures being flushed down the proverbial toilet that is this country. A once decent society with strong moral fortitude has become a whorehouse to wealth and ignorant notions. We blissfully navigate our way through our increasingly non complicated lives, and beg for help from Big Brother every time a problem seems too tough to handle. We shun the poor and less privileged, and call any program meant to ease their suffering "socialist" simply because we don't want to pay for it, or it doesn't affect us.

Our growth as a nation, and indeed a planet, is stunted, mostly because the next logical step in our evolution, space exploration and terraforming, simply isn't profitable. Imagine, the future of human beings as a race, is NOT PROFITABLE.

Trying to contemplate the will of those in charge will only lead to headaches, as the logical conclusions to their goals are a planet depleted of all natural resources and polluted beyond the capacity to sustain life. That's where we're headed.

If you truly believe this is a democracy, look up that word, and then look up the word corporatocracy and see which one is a more adequate example of this nation. If you believe that we are free because we vote, consider the fact that every major candidate is anointed by, and backed by lobbyists, hired by corporations who are there to grease the pockets of these puppets in return for voting their way. This happens whether they are Democrat, Republican, or Independent, and it always happens. If you believe we are free because we vote, look up voting irregularities in both the 2000 and 2004 elections.

These "men" who swear to protect, preserve, and defend the constitution are doing quite literally just the opposite. They issue executive orders that spit on the first amendment, and without the will of the people in mind. They conduct false flag terror attacks against friendly nations, and expect people to believe that it is all the work of "well financed" terrorists. Due process has been scrapped. Posse Comitatus, suspended. We are just one major disaster away from living in a police state, and we willfully let it happen, by ignoring our solemn duty as citizens to stand up to such blatant tyranny.

Those in charge only seek to remain in charge forever, mindlessly bludgeoning us with fancy rhetoric and illogical plans of action that never seem to actually get accomplished, even with a filibuster proof majority in congress. People get confused and think Republicans pull us one way and Democrats pull us the other, but the truth is both are pulling at the same end of the rope, and their battle is with freedom, not each other. Behind closed doors, they toast to how stupid we are for letting them get away with it, and if we are so dumb deaf and blind that we refuse to hear it, refuse to see it, and refuse to say anything about it, than we probably deserve our fate.

The future isn't tomorrow. It's here now, and if we don't do anything to reform it, none of us will have a future.

Thank you for listening,

In a world thats mariana trenchin in the distractions where do we go from here?

With the same general outlook, the only thing I've figured out is that its up to me to take control of my own life. Seems impossible to be in a position of power while you remain powerless.

As much fun as it is to mock and ridicule Brock, he definitely brought up some good points. The average person is wayyyy too preoccupied with their daily routine, gadgets, sitcoms and minuscule bitchmade problems to even acknowledge how much legislation is being pushed under the radar which infringes upon their civil liberties.

I read http://techliberation.com usually twice a month just too see what they are trying to do to the web. That's only one slice of the pie.

The whole idea of having reps to talk for you is rooted, imo, in people thinking they are incapable of working things out themselves. They think little of themselves or act little - incompetents.

Who put those people in positions to take citizens rights away?

Crackhead Bob
02-11-2010, 03:12 AM
corporations. You think you can run a political campaign without the monetary backing of special interest groups? Try it.

diggy
02-11-2010, 03:16 AM
Ok, but who voted for the corporate backed politicians?

Why don't peeps demand non-corporate politicians?

Crackhead Bob
02-11-2010, 03:20 AM
Because most peeps don't even understand that it's happening. They were ingrained with a Democrat vs. Republican mentality since the moment they are able to understand politics. And don't get it confused, an independent is not independent, they use that title to take money from both sides of the isle. Your classic case of this is habitual party swapper Joe Lieberman from Connecticut. This bastard switches parties to whoever's paying more at the time.

02-11-2010, 03:51 AM
Ya, well in this information/knowledge age with the internet and things, there are no more excuses for being ignorant.

Good read ! Gotta respect the verbal skills and sophistication in that text ....

"We shun the poor and less privileged, and call any program meant to ease their suffering "socialist" simply because we don't want to pay for it, or it doesn't affect us. "

Kinda true , the word "socialist" gets thrown around too often and I don't think we should be a socialist state , but there def should be some programs introduced to make this a beautifull and good living country for both rich and poor....
