1992:world is dominated by Dr.Dre and the Death Row Records,"The Chronic" is his new LP and everybody celebrate West Coast. What's happenin' in East Side? Well, this is not Wu-Tang era,so we must remeber a rapper that shit an incredible cd:REDMAN and his "WHUT?THEE ALBUM".Reggie Noble's first album is a mix of atomic rhymes, strange & hot topics (sex, drugs etc)and doped/out-control/funky beats created by that genius of Erick Sermon of EPMD. This cd is a kind of revolution because Reggie's style is something of new,any rappers has got his own skills that are as hot as many West MCs.Redman's debut is probably a classic,a great album where you can find great songs of the Funk Doc like "Rated R" (great funky song),"Blow Your Mind" (homiez!this is a mad rapper, and you can say it listening this track)and "A Day Of A Soopaman Luva",part of a long saga where Red shows his incredible charme (i'm jokin, his more perverite then Kool Keith!).A really good cd.And a baaaaaaaaaad cd!

Yo man Funk Doc go in the same high rank of Wu.. Every one of his albums was dope, especially dis one kuz it was one of his early ones and dude man put it down early in the game for New Jeruz period, back when he was hardcore in the shit.

its crazy how mc's first albums there voices sound more ROUGH and HUNGRY; like this album compared to muddy waters & bigz ready to die compared to Life after. but thats the only change-redmans lyrical matter just enhanced over years.but yo check out redmans GEnius on Hardcore- "can u Dig the i Dig Deep to Destroy Dum-Dumz" - find anyone else that can fuck with that..this album gets a 9/10

My favorite songs on here are Time 4 Sum Axsion, So Ruff, Watch Yo Nuggets, Tonight's Da Night, How To Roll A Blunt, Sooperman Lover. The album cover is tight.

Yes, most of the mc's got more hunger and roughness in they're first albums... but the exception is GZA.. beneath the surface is a good album but not 2 good, but later on he dropped Liquid Swords which is untouchable, gold lirycs, and every thing on it.. that's kinda unusual... anyway i didnt listen this album, but most of yall say its a nine, and ill get this shit then...

For som reason, first time i heard this album i was really disappointed, really disliked the old-skool production. Third time i heard it i loved it. Now one of my favourite albums of all times. Funny shit and great production.

This album is fucken awesome. Red's second best imo. I'd give it a 9/10. Love this joint.

"I had a fight with chuck, the punk motherfuck,
Tried to stab me in the gut, so I dazed him with a uppercut,
Snapped the neck on Michael Myers then I freaked it,
Cause it was august and he was talkin that trick or treat shit"

9/10 for me didn't like it at first. I still like Dare Iz A Darkside a lil bit better though.

To me this is Redman's best album, the rhymes were amusing and tight and the production was fat as hell, some of Erick Sermon's best work behind the boards, this was 1992, when the Hit Squad was in effect, I remember getting a promo sampler tape when I was working in a record store and having my friends wanting a dub of it.

this is a classic in my book, Redman is one funny guy and the production is smooth funk all the way - this was when Eric Sermon was still on the top of his game. it ain't a perfect 10/10 for me because the albums that i do give that rate to might be slightly better... "Hardcore" is probably my favorite Redman joint ever.

9/10

Hardcore came from EPMD's Business As Usual album. LOL@Redman saying at the end of Redman Meets Reggie Noble song, will ya called for you. Will ya who? Will ya suck my dick? LOL. Fuck you, you big nose bitch LOL. I hate your stupid ass. You a stupid muthafucka LOL. LOL@Hurricane G saying on Tonight's Da Night song, yo yo Redman man, what the fuck, get the fuck off that punk smooth shit, get with that rough shit man, you know how we do hahahahahahahahahahaha. I would like to see Tonight's Da Night and Time 4 Sum Axsion videos again. Those videos are hard. Redman should come out with a videos dvd and so should EPMD and Das EFX.

Pretty much yeah, Redman is also on "Brothers On My Jock" which is a dope, rugged joint.
