well i have seen how many assume the world to be what it is through what they have seen and experienced..

thats perfectly normal, we all do, but the point is that common sense through rational usage of our senses are not enough.. there is scientific evidence to show that we dont know half of whats going on in the universe because our senses cannot comprehend..

please have a read through this when you guys have time and drop your thoughts..

we use our brain to meld the five external sense to frame the world arround us but it doesn't help us to understand just comprehend via common sense, though by utilizing higher facilities of the brain such as logic reason to produce intelligence then we can proceed to understand the world with more respect to position withinand how the world arround relates within us.

for most people do just use their senses common to others but what seperates is when articles like prudence and discernment are used them peoples common sense becomes less common and more particular - like as babies get older they change and grow apart or with - they develop their own rationale - something they know but can't quite finger -> maybe their moral fiber <- .

it could be that we have to fuse and focus our five senses to make that jump or leap or step towards the sixth sense which would be a conscious and conscience opener, though not sure which one conscious or conscience is the latter or former in terms of higher senses of mind's acumen towards perceiving reality.

Human's have shown great development in the last 2000 years.
What was incomprehensible then is taught to 8 year old kids now.
The intellectual elite back then was dumber then the average person now.

I'm not discrediting them, if they had the resources we have now they'd most likely be among the intellectual elite in this age as well.

What once were ground breaking concepts are now incorporated into common sense.
Quantum physics which is beyond our comprehension now, might be 10th grade physics in the future.

I don't agree with this.
Knowledge comes easily, all you have to do is choose a subject, read about it and in 5 hours you'll know all about it. Intelligence is training your mind, and making it able to find ideas faster, to analyse knowledge and use it, to get to understanding. Knowledge is shape, Intelligence is essence.
So men like Homère, Socrate or Plato were not dumber than the average person now, at all, all you have to do is read the Republic to realize that. You could even argue about the average person now being dumber than the average peson then or not.
Maybe they knew less, maybe in a way they knew more, but they weren't dumber.

I know, but "dumber" was still inappropriate.

In truth, modern man is the group that is further down on the intellectual scale. Not the other way around. You can read about metaphysics and supernatural abilities The Hua Hu Ching, an ancient Taoist Manuscript. The problem is modern man uses two very short sticks to measure all of mankind's progress. Technology and Intellect. Neglecting the spiritual aspect entirely. This is where the ancients started, with the sprit and then tackled all other topics. That's why the only traces we can find are spectacular monuments that calculate the orbits of stars and planets. More impressive than 50 years down the road, finding old microwaves and Oprah dvds I think.

What is the spiritual aspect?

In a nut shell, the spiritual aspect is the realization of the connection between you and all things. Seen and unseen. Building on that connection. Respecting nature. Inner nature and outer nature. Spending more time with family than video games. Listening to softer music sometimes instead of the heavy music. Getting in touch with yourself. The true, untouched self that died at puberty.
