i got an mpd24 and mpk25
i haven't even touched my mpd since i got my mpk tbh - really no point since i got 9 pads and a keyboard (which i love having)
watch some youtube videos of people messing with both -
the pads are a little stiff on the mpk like everybody says but it doesn't bother me much, it might bother you depending on your recording methods but i dunno
all in all i think having a keyboard to chop up samples with, play bass lines and notes on as well as the arpeggiator function really outweighs having 4 extra pads that feel softer

Just got the AKAI LPK 25 and I must say this is the sexiest thing I ve ever seen in my life lol. Is just about the size of a ruler, and the keys are smooth ass hell. I once had the MPK 49 and the MPK 25, and I eventually came to the conclusion that they were worth too much money for what I was using them for, so I sold them both. All I need is keys to triger my samples, synths and different pitches of the samples, as well as browsing through different pitches of my drum sounds ie. Hi hats and snares.
IMO... dont even bother with the MPD...
