check your state laws but not shit in Texas,

its not that I don't pay my bills but Sallie Mae's fat ass was talking rent check money, so I said fuck'em. If I paid 'em 200-300 a month they'd fuck my credit up anyways so why pay shit?

You can bargain with the lender for deferments, lower payments etc. It all depends how much you took out in the end.

The same applies with credit card companies. Just call them up on your own time and explain how you received persistent offers from a competitor for a lower interest rate.

This all worked before the meltdown, not sure though in this day and age.

Their "hardship" payments were more than $700 a month. I basically told 'em to eat a dick and ignored them (and the subsequent bill collectors) every time they call.

I've got like an Obsessive Compulsive Disorder thing when it comes to paying bills. Yet I'm not very punctual when it comes to showing up on time for every job I've ever held.

You can't have it all I guess, but I'd take the good credit score any day.
