^ The same shady negotiations and back door legislation is being pushed through the cracks over here in the U.S.

I have a feeling a black market internet will eventually
come about in the next decade.

Pretty disturbing that the music and movie industries are dictating the direction of the web. Imagine sacrificing your laptops, thumb drives, smart phones etc when flying or crossing borders? Well we are almost at that point. Obama is side stepping congress with a stealth treaty.

The entertainment industry's blinkered pursuit of its own narrow goals has the potential to redesign our technology to be the perfect tools and excuses for oppression.
I'm fully confident there is an attack on open and free access to information. There is too much that's happened in the last 6 months to even cover.

the UK is fucked.

i don't like that news at all. i like how they pass these new laws to help the entertainment industry make more money, but there's no mention of clamping down on online paedophilia. smh

The most common excuse used to push a bill being signed into law (when it's tech related) -is that the underlying benefits provide protection to the children.

9 out of 10 times.

But all of this is to drive more profits for an infrastructure that has been chipped away at by disruptive technologies and platforms. Yes most music or movies require the studios front millions, but guess what..

That formula isn't the only way. Private VC funding and angel investors can accomplish the same thing and do it in a non-retarded-manner by seed investments rather than dumping a lump sum of money and waiting for the magic to happen.

Robbie, did you know the Australian government is in the process of censoring the internet China styles?

It's a precursor to universal internet censorship methinks.

Luckily for the average dude, governments are full of people who have a terrible understanding of technology, which is why it has been a free wheeling decade of efukt videos and hyper 5%er revolutionary forums.

This next decade will be the crack down.

Obviously there are always ways around these things, but the average chigga can't be bothered with that.

In Australia soon "small breasted" pornography will be censored.

My heart goes out to all my Australian brothers still pretending they aren't pedos because they watch videos of over age broads who look like children.

Yes I've been watching the developments in Australia, have fun getting throttled lol.

That makes absolutely no sense. It's counterproductive and a short term fix for the telecom companies. Japan residents get 12Gbps conncections for roughly $26 a month.

However they are a tiny country in comparison. YES most government agencies and politicians are morons who think our wired world is a magical series of hamster tubes and grandchild wiz kid workers.

Things will get better when the baby boomers die off. Hopefully they die from baby powder ingestion.

'teh Int3rw3bz' here is ridiculous in general.

Ridiculous prices for severely capped internet plans and horrible speeds.

I'm not sure if you vote on a local level. I actually highly doubt it, but pay attention to ballet questions or even email your state reps.

How would it feel to get taxed when trying to distribute a free mixtape?
