and he don't have one arrest record for diddling minors in the butt, or a theme park to distract a minor while you're butt diddlin.

He'll never reach MJ's height's if he keeps this shit up IMO

being called the king in an era of princes and madonnas, is much diff than being called a king in an era of t-pains and ga-gas.

think about it.

its like being the mayor of detroit during the mowtown/auto boom and being mayor now.

If you look at the last decade he pretty much has been the king of pop.

A whole generation of kanye clones is emerging.

Why don't we just write off pop music as sucking dick for cash and move on to actual genres?

The real questions:

The Animals or The Beatles for King of 1960s?

Johnny Cash vs. Elvis for Rock and Roll God?

Led Zeppelin is Metal. Stones aren't as good as the Animals IMO, and although better then the Beatles I think most would agree the Beatles are greater then the Stones.

Lil Richard is The Asiatic Black Man.

While the phrase "heavy metal" was coined by the heavy sound of the drums going on in Led Zepp (thank you John Bonham) , Black Sabbath were in fact some of the first Heavy Metal. and more so Sabbath is Metal > Led Zeppelin

I dont even know why I gotta point that out but still ...

Uncle Steezo

i don't consider metal, as we know it to be, doesn't fully encapsulate zepps sound.
blues rock r&b ....hmmmm

05-11-2010, 06:39 PM
yeah , I know what you mean. If you look up the history of the word "heavy Metal" then you will find how it came from the loud sounds of the cymbals (particularly John bonhams) and it was some type of journalist that coined the phrase while talking about the drums.

That's fair and I agree with you. Heavy metal was what we now call classic rock because the metal increased exponentially over time to SLAYER which pushes the boundaries of what is still music. Anything past Slayer I don't consider actual music. Slayer stays in because they're making raw sound. Once you cross that it's just chaotic noise.

I'm pretty sure The Mars Volta call what they do "Fag Rock" but you may want to check that one with the faggit that does the female vocal impersonations for them.

no deftones?
system of a down?

System is well before Slayer, system is one of my favorite groups because they make acid laced coke sniffing polka metal. Mars Volta? Never heard of them and don't care. Slipknot? Have a lot of musical potential they don't act in on order to be in the noise category. Their lead has a terrific voice, but 90% of the song he sounds crappy until he does the little bits where he actually sings. It's artsy, but it's not that musical. Tool? I don't love tool, but it's just as musical as any classic rock band.

I'm not saying you can't be an artist if you're beyond death metal and thrash, but you can't be a musician. There's a difference in my book. It's like Modern Art. It's still art, but I'd be hard pressed to call it impressive.

It's like maybe you can fart the national anthem, but I don't give a shit. It's not talent its you shitting yourself.

some of these young kids need to expand their music horizons.

luckily i had a few people who helped on the way, but regardless I've always been open minded with music.

I couldn't imagine being boxed-in with 3 artists on rotation from the post gen-X years.

that would be like being born deaf and shaken as a baby with digital dog whistles and shit.

After going through Bad Brains' catalog I noticed they heavily influenced sublime and deftones.

You can say deftones is just noise but then again Sonic Youth defined that sound and it also holds really no cadence to Slayer. It's original because the noise is channeled into a carousel of human emotions.

Why are you fggts being so snot nose about genres you can't interpret? Leave them alone. Even the Justin Beaver and JonASS Brahs have a place in this grotesque galaxy.
