There are two Genesis portable gaming devises out right now which let you play Genesis/megadrive games.

One is the GEN MOBILE

The other is the RETROGEN

Here are a couple of video reviews of each clone console

I recently picked up a Retrogen myself and I have to say for the most part, im really happy with it. There are a few negatives that I feel I should mention to anyone thinking about picking up one of these machines.

First the positive

The screen is excellent. It's colorful, well lit and a decent size.

It has a rechargable lithium battery.

It comes with cables to hook it up to a tv so you can play it like a regular genesis/MD.

It's region free.

It's not very expensive to buy.

Now the negatives

It is NOT 100% compatible with all genesis/MD games. From my own collection only two of them wouldn't get past the menu screen while others do play but i've had some slight control issues, aside from that it works for the most part.

It isn't particulary well built.

The sound is complete shit.

Some games suffer slowdown.

While im aware that it is essentially emulation hardware and such tech is never the most reliable, I was wondering if anyone else has picked up either machine or is thinking about getting one.

Also if you do have one, what are your opinions on it and what games you have that don't work?
