View Full Version : Nicolas Cage, Eva Mendes, Xzibit's Bad Lieutenant Sucks

I saw it last weekend and i was very disappointed because there was no action at all. Just a lot of talking and hardly any killing. Nicolas had some issues because he was a drug addict, gambler and he liked prostitutes. Eva was a prostitute in this and rapper Xzibit was a drug dealer. Val Kilmer is also in this. I recommend ya'll don't see this movie if you haven't seen it.

What do you mean there's nothing else to watch? You got cable don't you? If you don't, go to the library and get some dvd's or go to Blockbuster Video and get some movies.

i think they expected a generic 80s/early 90s style action movie rather than a more cerebral meditation on urban decay and the long dark tea-time of the soul.
i thought it was worth watching, cage put in one of his best performances in a while (maybe this and kick-ass signals a move away from commercial trash) and the cinematogrpahy was excellent.
"there was no action"--- are you a child? that's not a legitimate criticism for a movie that never pretended to be an action film. why don't i bash 'sophie's choice' because it wasn't porn. jeez.

Why the fuck would people think that though?
The original film had no action, and while i know this wasn't really a sequel, it tackled similar themes.
Some people are beyond stupid.

^^^well the original did have harvey keitel masturbating to some teenage girls outside of their car if that counts as action lol
i don't understand why 'slower' films and 'character studies' are anathema to some people.

I decided to see it because Werner Herzog directed, I wasn't disappointed at all.

The first was raw as fuck, loved it. Different era, different time.
I havent seen the second and dont really plan on it unless i somehowe come across coincidence.
Being a pretentious douchebag and attempting to show off your lexicon because someone didn't like the movie doesn't make your opinions any more valid than said critic.

Yea, but you don't have an opinion, right? You know, because you like, didn't see the film, right? Oh yea, and using the word lexicon, is showing off your lexicon.

Like, 99.9% of all the other times, I was not talking, nor referring to you.

I know, I just commented off the cuff because you're ridiculous. But for the record, that word wasn't on my SAT's so I had to look it up too.

the first bad lt was raw and gritty as fuck. one of the best crooked cops movies of all time. so when i heard about this, i really didnt know what to expect.
and when i first started watching it, i thought it was going to suck. really, really suck.
but then came the scene with the big ass lizard on the table, and i was won over.
while not as good as the other film that shares its name, this one is definitely not horrible. and like pandemic said, its one of nick cages best performances in a long time.

the original is a classic, but i still thought this one was a riot. as much as i hate nicholas cage he was pretty funny in it.
