So why is a guy that sleeps in trash so fuckin flamboyant with the swagger? well Vocal understands an essential rule in making money. It's not about saving...it's about making.
Vocal understands in the hyper materialistic nigerian society, to be taken seriously as a musician he can't look poor. He understood by day he can work in the garbage heep, by night, if fed, he will use his earnings, by expensive clothes and JEWELZ, and hit the town already pretending he made it in the music industry.
As the people around him begin to see him as an established artist that's doing well for himself, they respect him and get him gigs.
BBC did a special on 'scavengers' in lagos and Vocal was one of the main characters.
