I don't even like his music that much, but it cannot be denied that LUDA is #1 at everything he does. Charisma spewing out of his nostrils, unbeatable delivery every time, awesome un-confusable voice, outshines himself every time, etc...Just because he gets radio play does not mean he's whack. The dude is a GOAT.

It's similar to Kanye West. I don't like much Kanye West music and even less as a person, but it cannot be denied that he has the best producer of the 2000's. The dude has great ears and plenty of fuckin skill on the boards. Someone prove these wrong to me please.

Hey cunt,

First Fail: Saying Ludacris is only "so-so." A person may not like him, but it's impossible to deny he is amazing at what he does.

Second Fail: Having MF DOOM as the first to appear in your mind as one of the greatest of the past 10 years. Doom had dropped many material, but lyrically, 95% makes no sense, is lame, his voice and delivery are always the same, nothing interesting. If it were not for his beats, DOOM would be a bum. Ludacris could have the worst, most horrendous beats and still shine.

ludacris is nothing special. Ghostface was probably the best MC of the 2000s

I love the fact that most people will shun him due to his industry affiliation denying a good emcee when they hear one. I don't support of him doing songs with Justin Bieber but I'm not gonna stop listening to him for it. If that were the case I would stop listening to Raekwon too.

he's definitely skilled, but i don't think he's really made a 'great' album yet...it's not even his 'industry affiliations' or anything like that, but his albums are usually unfocused and come across as the generic cover-all-bases 2000s rap album...he's got one of the best flows though, imo.

Way too many other artists shined in this decade.
Elzhi
Talib Kweli
Mos Def
Ghostface Killah
MF Doom
Blu
And the list could go on. Relevance is nice, but it doesn't really hold any indication of an emcees skill.

that's a good point. that's one thing that i agree with. he definitely attempts to cover all bases. sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt.

Definitely one of the best of all time, anybody saying he ain't skilled is kidding themselves. As for being the best of the decade, I'd have to give that title to Jay-Z.

We had a good thread on here about him not that long ago were people showed their respect for him.

I agree with this.

There's no doubt Luda can rhyme his ass off, but his albums end up being underwhelming a lot of the time.

Some of his production choices, hooks and song concepts make me cringe.

I've had the same problem listening to Eminem since TES, I really dislike that album.

So much of their more recent material just ends up sounding contrived.

Luda's last great album imo was Theatre of the Mind. But even that had singles that I couldn't fuck wit. The last album I could bang all the way through was Release Therapy. I even listen to the R. Kelly track on occasion.
