Wiz, Curren$y & J. Cole get plenty of mentions around here.

You're just to busy trolling Wu-Tang & Vinnie Paz threads to notice.

Big Sean doesn't get brought up as often, I'm certainly looking forward to his album though.

One of the newer cats I don't see mentioned much is XV, that kid is really nice wit' it.

I think it's because Vizzy Zone still hasn't dropped yet and people got tired of waiting.

Or did it? I coulda missed it if it has.

Does nobody here fuck with XV?!?

If you haven't heard anything from him check the "Everybody's Nobody" and "30-Minute Layover" mixtapes.

I was hesitant to discuss some artists in this post because I wasn't sure if they are appreciated or known here

I definitely appreciate what Freddie Gibbs (http://cratesofjr.blogspot.com/2010/08/video-audio-freddie-gibbs-on-closed.html) has been doing, I remember his work regardless of what style he does whether traditional East or Southern, plus he's doing it all independently after leaving Interscope. He sounds serious lyrically, like he could stand out on a song next to a veteran who made classics.

Here's an audio and video interview at work from the studio:

Freddie Gibbs (http://cratesofjr.blogspot.com/2010/08/video-audio-freddie-gibbs-on-closed.html) on The Hip Hip Project Radio (http://cratesofjr.blogspot.com/2010/08/video-audio-freddie-gibbs-on-closed.html)

Wiz has a nice variety of music, I remember first hearing him on a song off Nicolay (http://cratesofjr.blogspot.com/2010/07/video-in-studio-with-nicolay-of-foreign.html)'s album "Here" years ago, plus a song called "This Plane". Nipsey sounds like the future of the West Coast, he display alot of hunger and drive. I have to take a listen to more of Currensy, J Cole sounds cool for the style of writing he does.

A recent song by Vado that I think is tight is Kill 'Em with Young Chris, the beat is dark and threatening like something Beanie or G Rap would rhyme over.
