May as well pick this one up while it lasts, it's distributed by a small label called Traffic so there's no telling how many may be pressed up in total.

not a fuckin chance. escapeism, carmel city, all the places, its on you, take you there, main ingredient is too nice. but it does have tracks that make it more then worth buying... i really hope you've heard t.r.o.y. atleast.

p.s. i'm annoyed with them releasing albums i already own with all these special features. i want the extras but its stupid to have 2 of the same record. releasing cold chillin OOP albums is a beautiful thing tho.

I like MATSB a little more than Main ingredient, but I can't be sure anyone else will feel the same, I can only give my opinion. They're both classics, I don't think they're that far apart from each other in quality.

To me MATSB has more depth in the writing and content, it flows more like a movie than TMI. You get images of ghetto life, death, family, love & relationships, history, religion, social inequality, great guests, interludes, scratch choruses, classic samples and posse cuts.

The listen is like a vivid journey through life and techniques of Hip Hop that shaped the sound of many songs you still hear today. TMI seems like an extension of all the greatness introduced on MATS, that's why it isn't greater to me, sort of like comparing The Godfather to it's sequel.

They're also releasing KRS One's Criminal Minded as a deluxe edition too.

Mecca And The Soul Brother is better than The Main Ingredient to me. I might pass on this box set that's releasing Mecca And The Soul Brother. I'm gonna check the tracklisting though because there might be some b-side songs i haven't heard.
