Really? I thought it was superior in most ways but it was way too short. Bullet time 2.0 was a cool idea, there's gonna be environmental bullet time in MP3 though.

Found some new infos...

Max Payne 3 is set eight years after the events of the last instalment.

Max’s latest assignment sees him protecting the family of Rodrigo Branco, a wealthy real estate mogul and his two brothers: Victor, a local politician and the youngest, Marcello, a party-loving Eurotrash playboy, along with Fabiana Branco, Rodrigo’s trophy wife, and Giovanna, Fabiana’s sister.

- The combination of Natural Motion’s Euphoria character behavior system and Bullet Time adds a new level to Max’s classic shoot-dodge moves. Shoot-dodge is not a canned animation, but a natural interaction with the environment, as Max will reach out to the floor as he dives, and naturally respond to objects in his way if you attempt to dive into a wall or obstacle.

- Max Payne 3 extends the concept of Bullet-Time to now include game areas of the game that will trigger set pieces involving Bullet-Time

- Bullet-Cams return

- Max Payne 3 takes the graphic novel panels of the earlier games and evolves them by utilizing in-game assets to create a motion comic-style approach

- James McCaffrey, the original voice of Max, is back. Not only as the voice of Max, but Max’s appearance, face and many of his movements in Max Payne 3 are all captured directly from James himself

- Max Payne 3 features an integrated cover system

- Destructible environments

- Partners and sidekicks will play a large role in Max Payne 3. Hundreds of hours of custom motion-capture were done for individual characters.

Max Payne 3 is in development at Rockstar Vancouver, with other studios also involved. It's set to release on PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. No release date has been announced, though one might be expected soon.

- Apparently this will now be released this December!!! (Both Amazon and GameStop in the States have switched to the Christmas date, with the former even e-mailing pre-order customers to claim that the listing was "changed by the publisher.")

- You will play through a number of flashbacks which will link the previous game to this one, which explains Max's different appearances in the new images that have been released (see below...).

- Fully destructible levels

- Sections where you have to protect another player with a sniper rifle, in a nod to the previous games.

Oh yes!...

Fatal Guillotine 09-22-2011 09:57 AM

looks pretty decent

Sky Blue Bally Kid 09-22-2011 03:13 PM

Yeah, I'm looking forward to it but I don't know...don't think it's gonna feel like playing a new Max Payne game.

The setting doesn't look like it has the dark grimeyness of the first 2 games. Also looks like they've got rid of the comic storyboard sequences in favour of cgi ones (which would suck if they have!).

I'll still cop though, unless it gets really awful reviews.
