RIP Gary Carter
Damn... dude lost the battle with brain cancer today at the age of 57.
In my eyes, one of the greatest catchers to ever play the game. Been wanting to get a throwback Expos No. 8 jersey for a while now... definitely a priority now |
Giancana reppin that No. 8 |
RIP
It was a magical world series |
It seems and sounds like Gary Carter was genuinely a good and stand-up human being, and not just people saying that because he is recently departed. All his former Mets teammates are saying that they looked up to and respected Gary's lifestyle. Some even said that they wish they had the strength to live their life like him instead of the path they chose.

Classy post, I don't know about his religious beliefs. And I've been sarcastic about the whole spectrum of religions with people that are in all walks of life. That is unlike some posters here who are just so infuriated by select groups such as Gonzo the great's. By the way, did you tell your family yet about the jooh girlfriend? |
Dwight Gooden attributes his 1985 season 24win - 4loss greatly to Gary Carter. Gooden said he almost never shook off Carter and said he would have only won in the "high teens" without his catcher.
David Cone said similar things about Carter and his 1988 season 20win - 3loss Quote:
