One word regarding the vocals..

Mumm Ra 02-22-2012 10:26 AM

i didnt know you emceed? wasnt bad but def room to improve if you choose too, breathe control and cadence should be your focus if you carry on with the emcee tip.

dope fuckin beat tho, loved the jazzy vibe.

and ya, throw some compression on the vocals. lol

Mumm Ra 02-22-2012 12:22 PM

that wasnt me rapping
that was 'funna stunna' lmao

id like to spit a verse sometime in the future though, once i get comfortable

A lil tip for good vocals is to have three vocal channels - High Pass, Normal/Notch and thirdly a Low Pass

You then add a Reverb & Compressor effect to each channel and use different amounts/types on each one. You can then pan each one differently to 'space' out the vocals quite similarly to how you would do it with a melody sample but with more precise control.
