6. Contrary to face-saving claims, it appears that the US and Israel were both caught off guard by Iran's announcement of a planned underground (to avoid being bombed) enrichment facility. The reasoning is simple. Had the US or Israel announced the existence of he new facility before Iran's notified the IAEA, it would have put Iran on the defensive. As it is now, the US and Israel seem to be playing catch up, casting doubt on the veracity of Israel's claims to "know" that Iran is a nuclear threat.
10. The United Nations has just released the Goldstone Report, a scathing report which accuses Israel of 37 specific war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza earlier this year. Israel has denounced the report as "Anti-Semitic (even though Judge Goldstone is himself Jewish), and the United States will block the report from being referred to the War Crimes Tribunal at the Hague, thereby making the US Government an accessory after-the-fact.
but basically this is all blowback caused by the US over oil after the UK set it off in '53 when they went crying to the US after Iran's Prime Minister (Mossadegh) nationalized the country's oil.....taking it away from them (Anglo-Persian Oil Company presently known as BP) so together they (CIA & MI6) staged a coup (Operation AJAX) that overthrew him and installed a monarch (Shah) as the leader into a Puppet Regime that they controlled for 25+ yrs which the people never wanted so it led to them revolting in '79 & its been hostile every since
Former US Secretary of State Madeleine K. Albright, in an address, acknowledged the coup's pivotal role in the troubled relationship and came closer to apologizing than any American official ever has before.
"The Eisenhower administration believed its actions were justified for strategic reasons," she said. "But the coup was clearly a setback for Iran's political development. And it is easy to see now why many Iranians continue to resent this intervention by America in their internal affairs."
The history spells out the calculations to which Dr. Albright referred in her speech. Britain, it says, initiated the plot in 1952. The Truman administration rejected it, but President Eisenhower approved it shortly after taking office in 1953, because of fears about oil and Communism.

I'm surprised how many nukes France has. they must've learned their lesson after what Germany did to them
I'm from Iran, but live in The Netherlands. I know people in Iran are very nice people and very friendly. The politics is just fucked up, but America and their propaganda make Iran seem like a country of terrorism and a country that wants to control the world. America is just scared, really. Look at the history, everytime there was a indirect threat against America they would start a war to get things straight or find another way.
America has to be mighty, world's numer one, the land that rules all. Fuck that shit. America themselves are building nuclear weapons but we don't hear shit about that in the press. How come? America owns the press, if they don't want shit to be written in Europe or other countries, it doesn't happen. USA should learn not to stick their nose in places where it doesn't belong.
America starts war for their own benefits, everything happening in countries such as Syria, Lebanon and Egypt makes them happy. Oil, money, greed, might. That's America for you.
Bush was certain that Iraq had WMDs because it was the US that sold Iraq those WMDs, or Iraq could have got them from Isreal who gets their WMDs from the US. when nothing was found it was because Saddam had sold them on. the US were made to look like fools when nothing was found but they knew for certain that WMDs had been sold to Iraq, that's why the US killed Saddam. the US (Bush Senior) supplied Iraq (Saddam) with weapons before the first Gulf War when Iraq attacked Kuwait.
this business at the moment with Iran is just the same thing, Iran might have bought some weapons from Isreal, or even from the US, and now the US think they are targets, but Iran hasn't started any trouble for a long time and they don't get involved when other countries that wanna go to war. leave them alone.
