Favorite Second Wave Solo? (other than Supreme Clientele)
So yes, we all know that SC was easily the best of the second wave of solos, but what would be your favorite with that one excluded and why?
I'd probably take Method Man & Redman's "Blackout!" because it was very dark and clever. Meth and Red were a killer combo and they were on point for the whole album. The album flows better than most Wu albums, every track melts into the next perfectly and the production is brilliant and intricate. What would be your choice and why? |
In Stereo cause it impacted me the most Domestic Violence, Unspoken Word, Silkworm and Mantis thats a classic to me

I'd probably say Blackout! doesn't count in this category because it's not even a Wu project. And The Pillage doesn't count cuz Cappadonna wasn't and still isn't a general. That leaves Tical 2000 and In Stereo. Both have 9 million skits, but I'm going to go with In Stereo because RZA shouts out Tarantino on My Lovin' is Digi. ??????

Uncontrolled Substance

Uncontrolled Substance! To me it´s one my all time favorite albums (Supreme Clientele is better!)
Would say it´s the 4th best WU solo album ever. |
Liquid Swords as the 2nd round pick.
"The Pillage doesn't count cuz Cappadonna wasn't and still isn't a general." Yes he is general since 2007 actually around 8 Diagrams. Y'all need to face facts that Cappadonna is a member. "Q: Is Cappadonna now an official member of The Clan? A: YES, Cappadonna is now an integral part of The Clan. He’s with us for many years now, but he has missed the beginning of The Clan because he was in jail. So he never signed a contract that would have made him an OFFICIAL MEMBER of The Clan. So back when I was still running Razor Sharp Records, I gave him a contract to give him a home. However, he never saw Wu-Tang Clan royalties. Now he’s an official member, even in legal terms. But for our fans he was part of the clan for the longest time anyway." heres another 8D interview about guest spots "R: Not really any mc`s, Streetlife is the only other mc on there that`s not signed on as a legal member and for the fans that ever wondered if Cappadonna is an official member, he is now officially and legally signed on as a member of Wu Tang we sorted that out this year, George Clinton’s on there, most people think he`s from the west coast but he`s from the East Coast his house is actually only a few miles from my house and George Clinton and ODB were really tight, they spent a lot of personal time together and cos ODB`s spirit is not here physically on this record you remember on Iron Flag when I had Flava Flav who`s just as wild, but to me George Clinton gave me some of that ODB flavour that you wouldn’t be able to get." |
