Remington Steele getting a remake
- A popular 1980s drama series is being developed as a new series for NBC -- and this time around it will be a comedy. Deadline.com reports that the network has an update on the detective show "Remington Steele" in the works.
The original series, which aired from 1982-1987 on NBC, jump-started the career of Pierce Brosnan, who went on to play James Bond on the big screen from 1995-2004.
NBC is developing the project from 20th Century Fox TV, which owns rights to the original show, the story says. Also called "Remington Steele," the new project follows Olivia Holt, the daughter of Steele and Laura Holt, as she reopens the detective agency, the story says.
The original series starred Stephanie Zimbalist as a private detective who hires a con man, played by Brosnan, as the fictitious male boss for her agency. The pair get together on the series finale, the story notes.
"The dramedy, which co-starred Doris Roberts, helped establish shows with strong, independent women at the center and is credited as being a precursor to the similarly themed 'Moonlighting,'" the story notes.
I remember this show but i never watched it. Pierce Brosnan is a good actor and the woman that played with him is cute but i haven't seen her in a long time.
Oh god.....what's going on with the writers guild of americA? Are they on a secret strike or something
