I haven't listened to this album fully yet, so I can't exactaly give a fair review. So far my favorite track is #6 It's Not A Game (Feat. Housegang and Sugabang.) Others who have listened to it all the way...post up how you feel about this new release. Lyrics are on point..the beats are not bad at all actually.
listening to it now , nearly finished, the mixtape sort of gets worse towards the end, but its still the best wu album/mixtape of 2006, Ins's new album looks promising now.
isnt this his album?
no its a mixtape
01: Sound of the Slums (feat. Masta Killa) / Prod. by Concrete Beats
I love this beat, real banging...
im just pissed that Masta raps the same verse as on "east mc's", it seems to me he has become a bit lazy, recycling beats and rhymes. Oh well, as long as he doesn't become the next Dreddy, "My clan is thick like plaster, bust ya, slash ya" haha...
but anyway, this is crazy.
02: C.R.E.E.P.S. / Prod. by Mondee
Nah, this not good. The beat kinda is weak and scary, and INS' flow is not good. Good concept though...It's decent
03: What They Want / Prod. by Mondee
I fucking love this track. Everything about this is flames.
04: Get Ya Weight Up / Prod. by Inspectah Deck
Sounds like it's a leftover from "the movement". It's a typical INS beat, but below his average. The rhymes is pretty nice though
05: Interlude 1
06: It's Not a Game (feat. House Gang & Suga Bang Bang) / Prod. by Mondee
now it's time for House Gang. I really like them, they are all talented. But this track is a bit of a mess, the beat is okay, but the chorus is wack. The verses is nice though...
07: Interlude 2
08: My Style / Prod. by Inspectah Deck
I really like this, a nice beat. And some crazy darts. That's what it's all about.
09: All I Want is Mine / Prod. by Mondee
A solid track. Mondee overdid the sample a bit, but INS does his thing with it.
10: A Lil' Story / Prod. by RZA
Amazing wu banger. Ya'll know it. SICK!
11: Get Down Wit Me / Prod. by Cilvaringz
I fucking love this. Banging ass beat as usual from Ringz, he got beats! The premo interlude is already classic, and INS shouts out the wu. It's just sooo NICE!
12: I.O.U. / Prod. by Flowers
Sounds like a dipset beat, i like it a lot. INS does his thing
13: No Love (feat. Carlton Fisk & Chico Debarge) / Prod. by Marksmen
I like this a lot, both deck & fisk is crazy on it! it has some nice singing, it's a really nice laid back joint
14: Grits Freestyle / Prod. by Live Son
WOW! This is a crazy "freestyle". Great beat as well...banging!
15: Do My Thang / Prod. by Psycho LES
This is garbage, most likely the worst beatnuts beat i've ever heard. SKIP IT!
16: Handle That (feat. U-God & Hugh Hef) / Prod. by Mondee
Real nice track. Uey does his thing...i like the beat, but the sample has been used a million times. The chorus is pretty weak, but the INS verse is flames! great track.
17: Animal Rights (feat. House Gang) / Prod. by Marksmen
I love this track! str8 crack! all it needs is deck! where is he?! Fisk murders it, that dude is sick!
18: H.G. is My Life (feat. House Gang) / Prod. by Live Son
i really like this, i like Live Son. He has a different style. It's fresh. And once again House Gang does their thing...they are great! Unfortunately Deck is missing from the track, and the singing guy goes a little nuts.
Im very pleasantly surprised. This is only a mixtape, but apart from a few misteps, Deck brought out heat! House Gang is pure and raw dopeness, Fisk is crazy...i hope they drop an album.
I love the fresh sound of the album, it's something different...and it most def shows the fact that wu members doesn't need wu-producers to make a banging album, so you fucking haters shut up! They just need quality beats, and especially Mondee brought heat!
Ya'll gotta pick this up! and DAMN im looking forward to "the rebellion" that shit gotta be pure fire...
Its ok i gave it a 3
Sound of the slums, What they Want, All I want is mine, A lil story and Get Down wit me, Are my favorit tracks
And looking at the credits RZA DID PRODUCE "A lil Story" and not cilvaringz, but is did produce "Down Wit Me"
is it album or mixtape ?????????????????????????
its a mixtape but as far as I know all of the beats are new.
all songs bang except for that beatnuts track but Decks ol' skool flo makes it listenable.
HG comes off nice, hopefully in the near future Fisk will drop an album.
Support Real Music & Buy This Shit
the production credits look pretty weak...but since its "just a mixtape" then whatever i guess...
still aint heard it yet tho...is this in stores??? i havent seen it..
Would someone please be kind enough to tell me, what is the difference between an album and a mixtape?
does deck have his deep voice on this mixtape??? Like on the 9 milli bros track???
Just letting heads know; i produced track 11, Get down wit me. Not Ringz; The producer credits are fucked up. PEACE 1
Ima have to check this out then. Too bad there's no links allowed here for the mixtape or i'd help those out who can't find it. :)
This album is fire start to finish
