(Genres of) Movies with great soundtracks
So, I'm currently building up my sample database and practicing a bit. I'm currently digging mainly in blaxploitation and poliziotteschi soundtracks - that stuff is straight up beautiful, those films had best soundtracks I heard since.
So now I remembered that there must be a shitload of such excellent soundtracks in other countries... So I'm using opportunity to ask ya if ya can recommend some film genres or particular movies that have excellent soundtracks. As I said, I'm mainly looking for sound similar to blaxploitation, but other sorts are welcomed too. Peace. |
^^ Already used, LOL. Yeah, I know, I used the instrumental of "Across the 110th Street" for my 1st beat posted here.

Well it ain't blaxploitation but Morricone's work on the Spaghetti Westerns is 9:|6^O^

Ennio Morricone: Italo Westerns like Once Upon A Time in the West , The Dollar Trilogy , My Name is Nobody, Once Upon a time in america and so on...
oh and john williams with the star wars/indiana jones themes |
YES! Ennio Morricone was the first to pop into my head. And also, don't miss the soundtrack to 'Le Planete Sauvage' (The Fantastic Planet) music by Alain Gorraguer. Peep the song called "Striptease."
Also, u just can't go wrong with the album/soundtrack Pink Floyd's The Wall. I don't skip any song from begging to end. As far as "Blaxploitation" films, Trouble Man by Marvin Gaye is a musical masterpiece! Extremely well produced and every song is different. |
Blaxploitation films have good soundtracks indeed.
