I heard it was decent... how does it compare to their back catalogue ?

Well it's the most energetic and gripping album they've done in about 20 years. Personally I loved their last few albums, which were slow and uneven, but a lot of people didn't, and a lot of critics tore them to pieces. This new album has been getting excellent reviews from what I've seen. For the casual listener or somebody who's not really into the band, this would probably be one of their top 3 or so albums (they have 14) to check out.

At first I wasn't into it, because like I said I really like their slow, experimental stuff. I thought hey, this is just a normal rock album. There are hundreds of bands that could make an album like this. But after hearing it more I really got into it. Now I fucken love it and play it daily.

It's only about 35 minutes long, so it won't cost you too much time to check it out.

I keep seeing it and thinking about even picking it up to look at it. I aint bought R.E.M. since way back. Come to think of it,....I stole the last REM I got.

I aint even heard what it sounds like. I remember after they dropped Monster , they took a lil break and then dropped about 8 or a million more albums so I cant keep up with them. I read the reviews and stayed up that way but from what I hear , they switched their sound.

I might stop by they myspace to see whats up.
